With land becoming scarce in metros, several townships and group housing projects are coming up along highways. Many residential units are coming up alosn NH 24 - leading to Hapur, NH-58-leading to meerut, the north west stretch of the NCR expanse on the Delhi- Chandigarh NH 1, along the Noida-Greater Noida expressway, not to mention NH 8 at Manesar (Gurgaon) and NH2 near Palwal (Faridabad). Developments along expressways got developers interested due to linkages, connectivity and the infrastructural benefits these provided over the main city area together with appreciation potential.
Moreover, many of these till now have been concentrated near upcoming commercial or industrial hubs leading to the creation of self-sustainable mini cities.
