Real Estate Video Podcasting Site Launches

Services for Real Estate Pros with Max Podcasting

With nearly 9 out of 10 home buyers starting their home search online, every real estate professional should revisit their Internet branding and marketing strategies. Only a few years ago, agents with a website were considered to be on the bleeding edge of marketing technology. Having a good website (most agent sites are awful) is just the beginning of a successful online marketing strategy. Today's successful real estate marketers must embrace new technologies designed to generate more leads, build brands, produce more commission dollars and, most importantly, improve the client's experience.

To give real estate professionals easy and affordable access to these new tools, Max Otto Marketing has developed MaxPodcasting.com. "With MaxPodcasting.com we're offering real estate agents, brokers, home builders and master planned communities an easy and effective way to produce and distribute media-rich streaming video tours of their property listings," said Andrew Renk, president of Max Otto Marketing. "The great thing about video podcasting is that it offers agents several advantages by combining streaming multimedia with Internet distribution and website/blog integration. And, agents are able to use the listing photos they already use on MLS. Their video listings are sent to Apple iTunes, Google Video, Yahoo Video, YouTube and other video and podcasting sites. There is really no technical expertise required. We handle all the back-end stuff. All the agent has to do is enter the listing information, upload photos, write room descriptions and choose the background music," Renk said.

"Because the Web is such a visual medium, it only makes sense to showcase homes with streaming audio/video technology. A few years ago it just didn't make sense because the bandwidth to deliver video of reasonable quality just wasn't there. With the increase in broadband connections and improvements in video delivery, real estate video podcasting's time has come. We're really in the infancy of this technology," Renk explains, "there are lots of very cool things just over the horizon."

MaxPodcasting.com is different because it combines video production and distribution online with traditional marketing techniques. "One of our taglines is Reach Globally, Promote Locally," said Renk. "It's kind of like that tree that falls in the forest. You can have the greatest podcast in the world, but if you aren't promoting it to your farming area, sphere of influence and clients, you may not be reaching the right people. You may find someone in Minneapolis interested in a Scottsdale vacation home, but you want subscribers to your podcast to be primarily from your target market area," explains Renk.

To help agents promote their podcast locally, MaxPodcasting.com offers optional products like sign riders, targeted postcard campaigns, business card mini-brochure and flyers all designed to drive traffic to the agent's video listings and build a subscriber list. The beauty of building a subscriber base is that the agent can push market their message through e-mail, news feeds and even to the subscribers desktop."

This looks good on the surface but when I tried to play the "quick preview" it took 5 minutes to download. And I don't think that prospective customers are willing to wait for minutes for something that they can get in seconds. Also, it doesn't look very portable. YouTube and WellcomeMat videos can go directly on your website and are free. This costs 50 bucks and there is only one way to get them: wait 5 minutes for iTunes to download them.

I wouldn't use it but if thats what you want to use, be my guest.
