How To Stop The Talking Heads

By

Turn off the television! The opinions of the "Experts" are only guesses based on their orientation or their perception of the market. A recent survey stated that nearly 80% of all stock trades are emotional, I dare say the same is true of real estate. Yet these TV Bozos continue to raise havoc with our economy based on their selfish need to generate advertising revenue and keep their jobs.

The advertisers will only pay premium rates for the shows that are being watched. The news shows keep pouring out the bad news and bad perceptions and everyone sits on the edge of their seats watching and waiting for the sky to fall. This makes the advertisers very happy because their products are being seen.

Any wonder why consumer confidence has fallen so dramatically; emotionally the consumer is being scared to death; why would they do anything? The concept "when in doubt - DO NOTHING" is prevailing throughout this economy causing a continuing downward spiral.

I am not suggesting that this economy is a figment of our imaginations but I am suggesting that we can do something about it. Stop watching Fox, stop watching CNN, MSNBC and all the rest. There is a book called the Four Hour Work Week; one of the outstanding principals is concentrate on effecting only those things you can effect. Being glued to the TV 4 - 8 hours a day changes nothing except driving many of us to renew our Xanax prescriptions. Rather than watching the news lets be entertained, let's seek enjoyment from the TV. There is nothing any of us can do to change the cycle of this economy except changing the station or just turning off the, (as my mother used to call it", "the Bube Tube".

It is time to fill that time we spend being depressed by the talking heads with fellowship, entertainment and appreciate all that we have to be grateful for. If you really think about it there is much that we can say thank you for and it is time that we do just that.

On a related note, where were these "Experts" when everyone was over extending themselves, where were they when property was appreciating at unheard of rates where were they when we all could have used a little guidance?

I say shut off the TV and re-establish your relationships with family and friends.
