The Henry Doorly Zoo is having its annual membership drive which will last until April 5. While the drive is in progress, the membership fee for a family is $73. After April 5, the fee will be $83. There are about 800 volunteers who will be selling the yearly memberships. The goal is to sell at least 61,000 memberships which are good for the entire year. It is a bargain for families who frequent the zoo often as a membership offers unlimited use. Each family membership admits two adults and all dependent children or grandchildren under 21.
The theme of the drive is "A New View of Your Zoo" which is apt since there will be a new director, Dennis Pate, as of March 16 and the new chair lift should open in April.
