Who were you in High School?

Has anyone seen this new show on TV Land called "High School Reunion"?  The premise of the show is to get high school classmates back together for their 20 year reunion in Hawaii and see what happens.  I typically don't write posts like this one, but it peaked my interest for several reasons.

TV Land's High School ReunionFirst of all, this season's episode is about the Chandler High School class of 1988, and I currently live in Chandler, AZ.  The high school is about 5 miles from my home.  Secondly, I actually know one of the individuals on the show.  I used to work with him, and have seen him as recently as about two months ago, but had no idea that he did this show.

Anyway, it got me to thinking about the days gone by, what it was like in high school, and what people thought about me in high school.  In the show, there are 17 different classmates and 2 reunion crashers who graduated in different years.  Each of them have been given their own nickname, based on how they were in high school.  Below are all of their nicknames:

The Band Geek, The Cowboy, The Troublemaker, The Preacher's Daughter, The Flirt, The Goody Goody, The Cheerleader, The Ugly Duckling, The Homecoming Queen, The Wannabe, The Loner, The Class Clown, The Snob, The Player, The Outcast, The Skate Punk, The Pregnant Girl, The Jock, The All-Star.

My question to you is which one of these best describes what you were like in high school, or did you have a different nickname?  How have you changed since then?

I think I was the troublemaker back in the day, but am now much more like the goody goody.

I can't remember what I was like in High School.  It seems to be a few centuries ago - wait, maybe it was forgetful!

I was a band geek, but that was 25 years ago. Haven't been in a band since.

My high school had 1400 people so it was hard to get to know everyone. That show is funny, I followed it last year because it was from my area and my graduation!

Tad - Isn't it funny how things change for some people, yet remain the same for others.

Kristi - You came from a very large high school!  I know my graduating class was around 500, and I definitely did not know everyone.  I'm a little older and missed my 20 year High School Reunion a few years back.

Oh to think of our high school days!  So neat that this show is being held from a high school in your home town.  Brings back the memories, doesn't it?

Zane - I guess your classmates remember you a little differently than what you thought.

Sandy - It does bring back memories of the time spent in high school.  It was quite a good time for me.

Rob - Spicoli, yeah, I remember you.  "Hey bud, let's party."  Very funny!

Duuude ... Spicolli just won an Oscar!  I meant to write a post about it and forgot.

It must be a sign of old age. I haven't seen the show, but most of my life happened way after high school.

Laura - Some of us have come a long way since high school, and others are still the same as they ever were.  Funny how that works.

I was quite well rounded into everything from sports, bands, girl scouts (yes, even in high school!), environmental clubs...but was SUPER shy.

Christine & Jennifer - Not sure which one responded, but you must have broken out of your shell.  You can't really be shy and sell real estate.

I went to my 35th year reunion a couple of years ago...hard to believe, but most people are still physically recognizable, but major changes in who they became from "how they were viewed".  I have actually been to the 10, 20, 25 etc, and the BIGGEST changes happened by the 10.  150 in my class, and I was very involved in stuff, including Girl Scouts, (yes, even in High School!)

Cheryl - I missed my 10 and my 20, and have not really kept in touch with too many from my high school.  I moved away and lost touch quickly, as this was before the internet, social media, etc.  I am trying now to locate people I have lost touch with.  I was very involved in sports, and I think for the most part people liked me.  Perhaps I will make it to the next reunion, 30 year perhaps?

Even though I was very active in many sports, clubs, and our class president, I still was very shy.  I bet alot of my old time friends didn't know that! : )

I just heard about this show a couple of days ago, now I'm going to have to watch it.  I don't think any of those tags would have been me.  The Sassy One.

Janet - So it sounds like you broke out of your shy shell?  Good thing, since you are now a home stager.  You can't really be shy in your or my industry.

Georgina - You're the sassy one, huh.  It was a good show, but what really made it interesting for me is that I knew one of the cast members, and it was from a high school that is only about 5 miles from where we now live.  I think there will be another season coming up soon, as this one has ended.
