How many balls can you keep in the air?

A while ago I started something called blogging. O.K. I started out just reading other peoples blogs. Then I jumped in and tried a my space page. My space didn't do much for me. It felt like too much like work. Maybe I was just blocked. I actually don't remember what I tried next, I think it was here on active rain I tried next. It didn't take long at all and I was hooked. I believe next I setup a facebook account. Now facebook is a way different place than active rain. When I first setup my facebook I thought I mustbe the oldest member there. The next generation from my family (nieces & nephews) were all there. It is amazing how much I can learn about my  (friends) in just a few minutes. Next I joined twitter, I have to admit I am still trying to find my way with tweets, tweet decks, and so on. So far I'm not very twitterpated but I haven't given up on it. As I continue on in active rain I read about many other social networking sites. The question is how do people have time for all of them?

I have found incredible value in active rain. facebook as well. I am defintely hooked. Thank you active rain for this great social networking site for real estate.

If you should choose I would love to hear how many social networking sites you can keep up with?

Randy,

I'm starting to blog, but I think I'm going to pass on the twitter. I never got into the IM either. Too much keyboarding or thumb pressing is tiresome to me. Maybe I'm just old school, or as my kids might say, I'm just old.

Modesty requires me to leave unanswered your question regarding how many can can I keep up in the air. (joke)

Julie,

Good idea. I think I have RSS going to twitter and facebook but I don't know where it shows up in facebook. Can anyone tell me how that works?

Chuck,

You make a great point. Normally my wife and I are on a date on Friday nights. I am caring for my mom tonight instead. She is sleeping right now so I had time to get out in the rain.

I blog on Active Rain for  ideas and motivation. If you are thinking Real estate you are real estate if that makes sense? Do ensure my google presence I am trying to blog more on my own web site....

I struggle  just to maintain active rain and my real estate blog. i couldnt imigane doing facebook.

Im tempted to but too many people from the past. Its nice to have linein your real estate business, but some realtors swear by facebook? Have you got any listings from face book?

Carl,

It is a great place for motivation isn't it. I also find it as a creative outlet for pictures, (wordless Wednesday) and  place to talk about places we like to visit and all things real estate.

I can tell you that facebook isn't like active rain at all. You could really get into it deep if you did all the little games and widgets. I am currently working with a buyer I got from my facebook account.

Tony & Darcy,

You guys are so good to comment on my posts. Thanks! Once again I haven't been cloned yet so I have to do all of this on my own. I'm a little jealous of the teams out there sometimes. Other times it is really nice. I spend the majority of my time here in the rain. I a just amazed at how much I see some people doing on twitter, then I read others posts and they are suggesting many other sites. I think I am pretty much maxed out. It sounds like Julie has it going pretty well with RSS feeds. I need to figure that out a little better.

Charles,

You too are so kind to comment on my posts. The thing I like about facebook is it really doesn't take much time to catch up with the updates. It is also easy to find others that are on the facebook network using the friend tool. It seems to be the choice of the next generation, and alot of them are now entering the housing market.

Deborah,

Welcome to the rain. How do we explain RSS? It stands for Really Simple Syndication. That probably doesn't help much. try this link to read a little more about RSS http://www.whatisrss.com/

The basic idea is you find a site that you would like to see updates when they are available. If you subscibe to the RSS feed which is available on more sites every day you will get updates whenever they are available. I have mine showing up in Outlook. They appear pretty much like emails. The link above will help you to learn more. Thanks for your question.

Hey Randy, I have Active Rain, Twitter, Linkin, Facebook, & Ziggs. I am on Active Rain almost daily (I did take a two month break during the holidays). I am on Twitter and Linkin usually once or twice a week. I have a Facebook account but haven't done much with it. I am on Ziggs about once a month. I can't be on all of these and get things done, as I am a slow typer. Take Care!!

Teresa,

Wow so far you are the winner. Five of them is alot. I don't even remember hearing of ziggs before. speaking of slow typing, I wrote this original post on a tablet computer with out a keyboard. Each letter typed with a stylus. That took quite a while. Most of the time I am on a PC desktiop with a normal keyboard. I certainly don't heat up the keys with my typing.
