Pet peeve

Here's my pet peeve....

Lately I have been coming across BPO listings, keys are gone, windows are broken out, Sign are down from the wind, Doors are left wide open among other things, but whats worse is when you find out these listings have been given to a listing agent living no where near the city, sometimes county of which they have these listing......

So as an agent and resident, I find myself taking care of these properties. Why is it that the REO Banks do not know these Realtors do not live nor service the areas they are listing homes in.

Good question!

Denise, it really make me wonder too...as an appraiser I've shown up to do an appraisal at these types of properties and find I can't get in..really is upsetting at the time.   And if the door is open or unlocked I feel even more nervous..like what if someone is in the house when I arrive.  I have a friend who opened a door of a REO one time to find two strange men eating pizza in the kitchen. They had no business being in there... Who was watching that house?

Why don't the banks take more care choosing agents and find some one local? I want to know too...last house I went to that the key was missing..both agents were too far to come and let me in...so why didn't they select a local listing agent.  AND if the agent did a BPO first how could they if they were not in the area? Well, it's helpful to know the area, isn't it?  IF you find an answer, please share.
