Hey Central Florida Sellers...Have you considered doing THIS to sell your home???

By
Real Estate Agent with Keller Williams Heritage Realty

I've seen a lot of crazy marketing antics over the years, but this one beats them all!

Recently, a local Seminole County "For Sale By Owner" ran an ad on Craig's List and found a few talented people who would be willing to "market" their home for sale for five hours (they were each paid $10/hour)...here's a few photos I took.

Like many others who were drawn by the "circus-like" activity, I too stopped by to ask the Sellers what they were asking for their home....

Once I heard, it became evident that they needed more than a juggler and a unicycle rider to sell their property...they needed a full-time REALTOR® who could help them price their home appropriately and market it accordingly!

While these particular Sellers have chosen to go the self-promotional route (and I do wish them the greatest success!), I'm fairly confident that even if they were to pay 100 people to stand on the side of the road dressed in drag and waving attention-getting flags, that if their home is not priced right, it won't sell.

Moral of the story: Hire a full-time professional Real Estate agent who will not only market your home creatively, but who will advise you on the proper price and then negotiate the best terms for you when you get a contract.

I'd welcome the opportunity to interview for the position as your Central Florida REALTOR®

I may not sing or dance or ride a unicycle, but I can and do SELL HOMES!

What a novel idea, leave it up to a persons imagination and outside of the box thinking.

LaShawn, I guess they have taken a cue from the new home communities that do this! But you're right, if it's not priced right it doesn't matter what they do. And they'll get a lot more exposure if they hire you as their agent!

Mike~ Yep...a lot of builders hire people to stand on the corner with sandwich boards and such...I've just never seen a juggler, a unicycilst and a guy dressed as a drag-queen superhero. Crazy times, these are.

Paddy~Sad, but true.

Don~Novel, yet not effective. They did attract attention, but attention doesn't equal an offer if the property isn't priced well.

Frank & Sharon~Yes, I agree. They must have seen all the local builders doing something similar and figured it was woth a try...and thank you for the compliment. I offered to meet with them, but they preferred to go at it as a FSBO. Maybe they'll be the 1 in 10 that is successful since they are clearly being creative.

Shelton~No, it didn't work. The house is still for sale by owner and is overpriced...which won't generate any true interest, regardless of how many dancers they have on the street corner. :-)

LaShawn,

I'm still trying to figure out if I should laugh or cry for these Seller's and their antics?  I guess I should give them credit for trying...too bad they didn't put much brain power into it and call you FIRST!

Haha wow that looks more like a 3 ring circus then a house for sale I think detracting even more from the home then helping sell it. Interesting tactics though.
