As am "almost" native of the Pinehurst/Southern Pines area of Moore County (I moved here in 2nd grade) I can really appreciate what the community has to offer.  Although I came here that early in my life I haven't lived here the whole time since then, and I think that my time away has also added to my knowledge base and my understanding of Moore County.

I was born in New York at Mitchell Field Air Base, but my family didn't stay long enough for me to know anything about it.  When I was six months old we moved to Hanover Four Corners, MA which is 30 minutes outside of Boston going towards the Cape. We lived there till moving to Southern Pines, and I have wonderful visions of the home we had there, and maybe that's where my love of real estate began.

It was the love of equines that brought us here; my mother loved to hunt with the Moore County Hounds; and, consequently, I started riding very early and also enjoyed hunting and showing.  Riding in the woods probably encouraged my feeling of a commitment to the land. 

High School took me to Fort Lauderdale, FL, where I attended Pinecrest for 4 years and spent time on the swim team and  participated in many clubs and service organizations. Upon graduation I went to college in Columbia, MO, where I received an Associates in Science Degree.

After a few years back in Southern Pines I moved to Miami and enrolled in Florida International University where I happily received by Bachelor of Science Degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management.  For a few years I worked at the Royal Biscayne Hotel in various positions, but then I had an opportunity to work for the Miami Herald where I worked till I moved back to Southern Pines in 1982.
