Robert D. Ashby has been involved in real estate from the mortgage side datng back to early 2003 and still maintains a presence as Mortgage Rate Forecaster™ and a Certified Mortgage Planner/Certified Mortgage Planning Specialist.  Chances are, if you have been on ActiveRain for a while, you are already familiar with him.  But you may not be aware of his photography background and expertise.

Robert took courses on photography back in high school, including developing his own film.  Photography was such a passion back then that he worked hard to earn the money required to buy his own equipment, most of which he still has (antiques?).  Unfortunately for those desiring his photographic skills, his passion for flying won out and he became an airline pilot instead.  And yes, he still flies internationally for a major carrier, mostly to Brasil these days.

With the mortgage industry in turmoil, Robert decided to shut down his mortgage business as it became cost prohibitive, though he still maintains his presence in the industry in several facets...Mortgage Rate Forecaster™, Mortgage Planner, and part of the Mortgage Myth Busters.  During the transitional process of closing Solid Rock Mortgage Corporation, his friends from around the world encouraged him to renew his passion for photography and go into business, thus Robert Ashby Photography was born.

Now, with renewed passion like never before, Robert has embarked on a new adventure, taking to photography like he has every other path before.  He seeks to constantly improve his skills and provide beter than expected results to those utilizing his services, learning new tecniques and acquiring new equipment along the way.  While others have told him to focus on one specific type of photography, Robert realizes his skills spread across the spectrum and aims to assist all of those in need. 

His websites, Robert Ashby Photography and Ashby Pro Photography remain in "infant" form, though you can expect to see more and more posted as time permits, including the vast array of images from his travels, dating back to his first digital camera.  The latter website will be catered more towards fashion photography, beauty and glamour photography, and model photography, but will also include commercial and real estate photgraphy, along with advertising and other professional photography images.  The main site will have more from across the spectrum, including wildlife, travel, and more, many available for sale.
