cherimie crane: Hey George~ I Found the Weapons Of Mass Destruction! - 02/23/09 03:44 AM

Don't worry Mr. Former President sir, I found them. Yep. Little ol me. Realtor from Beaufort, South Carolina wakes up to find WMD's.
***warning, may completely tick you off, offend you, or make you feel the need to curse***
I identified them and their wake of destruction. Forgive me for not stumbling upon them sooner.
1. CNN- This weapon can be found on TV and or www.cnn.com. It can be a bit deceiving at first even slightly informative. The blanket statements, broad statistics, endless pictures of boarded up homes and the teary-eyed innocent has caused massive destruction.
2. Foreclose, because … (14 comments)

cherimie crane: 10 Ways NOT to Sell Your Home - 02/22/09 12:25 AM
Yesterday I had beautiful chaos! A car full of qualified buyers. Not one, Not two, but three ready, able and willing buyers toured numerous homes.
I felt as though I had a panel of judges rating each home. Their feedback was priceless. After our exhausting, informative, productive, and at times, comical tour of homes was complete, we compiled a a list of ways to NOT SELL YOUR HOME.
10 Ways NOT to Sell Your Home
1. Make it difficult for an agent to show it.  I was shocked at how many sellers, even with 24 hour notice, were unwilling to … (30 comments)

cherimie crane: 5 Things To Consider When Choosing A Realtor To Sell Your Home - 02/20/09 12:05 AM
Realtors are professionals. We work extremely hard to remain knowledgeable, updated, and CALM in a market that has more twists and turns than the Stimulus Bill.
Just as in every profession, some work harder, or in a more politically correct world, differently.
If it is necessary for you to sell your home there are some very important points to consider when interviewing a Realtor.
1. How does he/she represent his/herself? If a Realtor comes to an interview (listing appointment) dressed as if they just rolled out of bed, how could they possibly advise you on putting your best foot forward?

Once again, I am fortunate enough to help one of America's finest, find a home. She is beautiful, in immaculate physical condition, soft spoken, brilliant, and well..she could kill me with her hands.
She is a U.S Marine. She represents the elite group of women who make it into one of the toughest military branches.
It is an honor to represent her. We have spent the past week searching for a home that fits her needs. It is the first time I have worked with a single female Marine. In the past the majority of my Marine clients were single or … (8 comments)

cherimie crane: Ladys Island SC Homes 180-200K - 02/14/09 12:51 AM
It is a great day to show first time home buyers the many wonderful reasons to live on Ladys Island. We will begin our day at Berry Island Cafe. We will enjoy our coffee and decide which homes to see first.
I will make certain to take them to at least one of the several public boat landings.
It is extremely important for new comers to understand the value of a nearby boat landing, even if they don't currently have a boat!
We will also make special note of the Ladys Island Country Club which offers more than just golf or tennis. … (3 comments)

cherimie crane: What it Means To Live In Port Royal - 02/11/09 06:19 AM
As I was going through all of the information about Beaufort, SC I realized there simply isn't enough about Port Royal.
Port Royal is one of Beaufort's most treasured communities. It has an eclectic feel that attracts a most unique population.

With Port Royal's "mixed-used" zoning capabilities many artist and small business owners are able to operate directly out of their residence.
I lived in Port Royal for three lovely years. My favorite activity was walking down to the Sands Beach. It was always the perfect way to begin, or end a busy day. On my way to The Sands, … (4 comments)

cherimie crane: What is Your Realtorness...ness!?!? - 02/09/09 10:37 PM
What type of Realtor are you? Do you march to the beat of a different drum or do you sashay along with the crowd. Maybe you are brand new and aren't quite sure exactly. Possibly you have been around so long you forgot?
Perusing websites, real estate ads, signs, and business cards, it is quickly evident that Realtors a professional whole, are running low on one of two things.

One, we truly believe the only adjectives we can use to describe ourselves is experienced, professional, full time, and/or some variation of specialist.
And two, we have fallen prey to the … (8 comments)

cherimie crane: Like A Bunch Of Sun-Worshiping Fiddler Crabs - 02/08/09 07:59 AM
The best part of our annual cold snap is the day it is over! The sun rose this morning and out popped the smiling faces of the anti-cold Beaufortonians. We came crawling out like a bunch of sun-worshiping fiddler crabs.

It is safe to say it would be a challenge to find a frown on this glorious Spring-like Sunday.

The waterways are buzzing with boats and kayaks, the golf courses gleam with activity, the downtown shops and cafe's are bubbling with visitors and locals alike.

cherimie crane: Nobody Cares How Much You Know - 02/01/09 12:27 AM
I am proud of the effort put forth in my latest "under contract". I worked really hard to make absolutely certain this home was at the fore front of every Realtor's, purchaser's, and prospective purchaser's mind.
At the onset my sellers and I both knew it would take about 9-12 months, based on market data, to reach our goal. It has been exactly 8 months.
This couple found me through a Localism Post. They contacted me and asked me to list their home. There was no awkward first-time meeting, no doubt about my professionalism, and actually no question as to whether … (27 comments)

cherimie crane: I Smell Beaufort!!! - 01/30/09 04:45 AM
After two incredibly long weeks of Real Estate Broker courses, it was finally time to pack up and head east. Not to discount the earth moving material covered in the class, but boy was I ready to come back to Beaufort.
I have read that smell is one of the strongest senses. At times I have even wished that were not true. On Friday, I couldn't have been happier to have a great sniffer!

It depends on who you ask and possibly where you are standing in regards to the answer to the age old, "What is that … (11 comments)

cherimie crane: I Need A Bail OUT!!! No Really! - 01/27/09 02:45 AM
I am sure most of you are familiar with the MDA annual Lock-Up. Someone turned me in and it is my responsibility to raise my bail.
It is for an extremely good cause. I am blessed with good health as is most of my family. I wouldn't normally use Active Rain for this type of request; however, it seems forgivable.
I know times are a bit tough, but there is always a way to help.
I would be most appreciative of any contributions! Click Here TO GET ME OUT OF JAIL

cherimie crane: Sold in TWO days! The Makeover of A Community - 01/13/09 12:29 AM
In today's market where many agents are extremely cautious about taking on new listings, I took on an entire development. A development that had been listed almost a year with absolutely no success.
What was I thinking?
I was thinking that somehow the previous marketing strategy completely missed the mark. The previous company, an icon in our area, wasn't accustomed to catering to first time buyers. A tremendous company with outstanding agents, just not as familiar with the needs of this community's target.
This new community was exactly what so many of my buyers had been searching for however, I didn't … (18 comments)
