christmas: The Day Before Christmas Story #5 - 12/24/21 06:29 AM
We have arrived at the blessed Christmas Eve - THE reason for the season and that is Christ our Lord. This week I have been sharing Christmas blessing stories in the hopes to provide others with joy and purpose. God gives each of us stories and wants us to share them.
Our final story in this series is another confirmation of my near-death experience. This story not only confirmed my experience but also provided a young mother with the gift of giving herself some grace. This precious story still brings tears to my eyes.
I was in my hometown for a book signing … (11 comments)

christmas: 2 Days Before Christmas Story #4 - 12/23/21 12:55 PM
Yesterday, we left off at the incredible near-death experience while I was in the hospital. What was so difficult to grasp was whether or not my visitation really happened or had it been a dream? For months after the event, I grappled with the event knowing in my heart that I had indeed received a great visit and message.
Six months after this event, my husband and I were at a gathering when I noticed the front door opening and saw an elderly man enter who was aided by a walker. I could tell he was very frail and was moving slowly.

christmas: 4 Days Before Christmas Story #2 - 12/21/21 06:11 AM
Yesterday I shared my first miracle story with you. Today, I will continue with another inspirational story that I hope will encourage you and warm your heart. Miracles and blessings still happen each and every day.
As I shared about discovering my biological grandmother in my last post, this story is about my first grandchild. She was born into a tumultuous situation. When I heard my daughter was in labor, I went into action to drive the 1100+ miles to see her. It was two days of intense driving across the country by myself but I was excited to lay my eyes … (21 comments)

christmas: 5 Days Before Christmas Story #1 - 12/20/21 09:30 AM
Today marks five days before Christmas and what a great way to put things in perspective for the season than to focus on our blessings. Each day from today through Christmas Day, I will post a Christmas blessing post. I hope these posts will be a blessing and encourage you to focus on the blessings in your life.
Today's blessing story is about a very personal experience from years ago. I was 18 years old and found out in a strange turn of events, that the father I thought I had was not my father. My biological father was someone else who … (12 comments)

christmas: Christmas Miracles Still Exist - 12/16/20 01:45 PM
Amid this challenging year of 2020, we have all experienced things we never, ever expected. But, isn't that life? None of us can really know what tomorrow holds, can we?
As believer's however, we can hold onto the promises from God's Word. Throughout Scripture, we read of the many miracles that were witnessed in those days. Often, we mistakenly believe those miracles only occurred for mankind in those days. For those of you who have experienced a miracle from God, you know firsthand that miracles still exist today.
Recently, a dear friend of mine who is going through breast cancer treatments received the … (20 comments)

SUNDAY BLESSINGS ~ The Week Before Christmas

It is hard to believe that Christmas will be here this time next week.   We have been busy with decorations, parties, gift buying and the overall hustle and bustle of the season.  I am sitting here looking at our beautiful tree and trying to soak in the simple blessings of the season.

Here are some of my simple Christmas blessings:

A child's smile as they gaze at the Christmas tree.  Singing Christmas carols.  Driving around to look at the festive lights.  Christmas Eve church services.  Making Christmas cookies.  Simply watching … (1 comments)

christmas: ENJOYING A FIRST CHRISTMAS! - 12/17/11 03:10 PM
ENJOYING A FIRST CHRISTMAS!

Today I was blessed to be able to take my five month old grandson to see Santa today.  Of course he didn't have a clue what was going on but being able to do this with him was wonderful!  He was the perfect angel.
My husband and I had him spend the night last night and luckily he slept a full 9 hours.  Got him fed and dressed and headed out to the country club for a Breakfast With Santa.  He was so adorable in his little Santa outfit.
I am so thankful that as a … (8 comments)

christmas: SUNDAY BLESSING ~ THE CHRISTMAS SEASON! - 12/11/11 04:56 AM
SUNDAY BLESSING ~ THE CHRISTMAS SEASON!

We are all well into the Christmas season now.  Lights have been hung, trees are getting decorated and gifts are being wrapped.  With all of the fanfare of the season, I like to step back and reflect on what Christmas means to me.
For me, the Christmas season is truly about "Christ".  He is the reason for the season and I fear this fact is getting more and more diluted as this special day becomes known simply as a "holiday".  Certainly there are other religions and beliefs out there but this does not negate … (5 comments)

christmas: CHRISTMAS THROUGH THE EYES OF A CHILD - 12/04/11 07:39 AM
CHRISTMAS THROUGH THE EYES OF A CHILD

I am enjoying spending time with my sweet little four month old grandson.  Watching him experience things for a first time is such a wonderful thing.  His little eyes will widen when he is introduced to something new.
There are so many lessons for us when we look through the eyes of a child.  If we take a minute to really "see" what is around us, we can learn so much.  We also then have the ability to see things in a different light.
Here are my lessons of what I learn as … (3 comments)

christmas: CHRISTMAS AT MCDONALD'S - 12/04/11 07:22 AM
CHRISTMAS AT MCDONALD'S

We have been working hard around the house to get our Christmas decorations up.  The place is beginning to look a lot like Christmas!  I love dragging out all of those boxes and preparing the house for this special holiday.
Here are some special pictures of the people and the house as the season descends upon us.  I hope that each and every one of my Active Rain friends, clients and friends out there are enjoying the holiday season.  There is so much to be thankful for!
I hope that you all have a wonderful week.  Don't … (5 comments)

christmas: Christmas Memories 2010 - 12/26/10 01:52 PM
Christmas is officially over but the memories will continue to linger. Thankfully due to our Kodak moments, we are able to capture and remember these times forever. I have had a great time capturing some Christmas memories this year. The true meaning of Christmas of course is our Lord and Savior coming into this world. As the years have gone by, so much of the reason for the season has been forgotten and "politicized" out. The other meaning of the season is within our own families and friends. We are blessed to have families that love us and friends that are … (6 comments)

christmas: JACK THE WEINER DOG GETTING INTO THE CHRISTMAS SPIRIT! - 11/28/10 03:30 PM
JACK THE WEINER DOG GETTING INTO THE CHRISTMAS SPIRIT!

Jack posing for a quick photo before tearing off his cute little jingle bells costume.  He was kind enough to allow me to snap a picture before retreating under the bed to disrobe!
They have the cutest costumes for animals these days.  Yes, I am one of those lame individuals who purchases them and then humiliates my dog with them.
Jack is pretty good natured about it and allows me to don the outfits for a little while!  He always gives me those eyes that seem to say, "Ok, now can … (9 comments)
