One of our long-time, local real estate brokers, Shirley Hooks recently passed. She forged the real estate community in our area for many decades. Not only was she a force in real estate, she was instrumental as a major philanthropist and community leader on many fronts. Today I had the pleasure of closing on a home for some of my dear friends. It's always a little nerve-wracking to sell a friend's home as we all know the pitfalls when working with friends and family. Last night in our tiny town of Granbury, Texas after an almost 5-hour Special-called meeting, the Trustees voted 5-2 in favor of censuring Karen Lowery for her unethical behavior and for going against school board policy and procedures. The board room was filled to capacity with many filling the entire foyer as well. It is a sad day for any school district to have to take such measures against a fellow elected official. Last night in historic Granbury, Texas, what we as business owners fear–fire, descended upon our town. In the wee hours last night, a fire began in the iconic building known as The Nutt House. Creatively Marketing a Commercial Warehouse Today I did something totally out of the typical commercial real estate box. I hosted a paint party for our real estate agent community at a warehouse I have for sale. My goal of course was in getting agents to the warehouse to put their eyes on the property.
So what did I do? Yup, I totally lured them in with a fun activity, some libations and some food. My good buddies over at Stonewall Title pitched in to help and guess what? It was a success!

Do You Ever RETREAT? Yesterday our entire office took what we call a One-Day Retreat. We recently opened our doors back in May of 2017 so this January was the first time we me for one day and reflect, re-purpose, and relax. Yes, we cleared our busy schedules and came together to retreat.
We spent the day at a cool, historic home that is right in town. We weren't far from the office yet we were out of the office. It truly made for a change-of-pace for us all.

Today I Went Back to High School! Having returned to my hometown after almost 40 years, a lot has changed while much has stayed the same. Today, I was able to tour Granbury High School with the Granbury ISD Education Foundation. What I discovered was truly amazing.
When I attended Granbury High School in the 70's, the school was brand new and was state of the art for that time. Well let me tell you that today, this school district has exceeded my expectations. Embracing CHANGE ~ Life Depends on it! Recently I needed to make some major changes regarding the direction of my business. As I carefully made decisions, conclusions and course of my business, it was very clear that the direction I needed to go. Therefore, change is happening.
As a former Biology teacher, one of the very first lessons I taught my students was that in order for something to be considered "living" it must be constantly changing. For instance, if our cells were not in a constant state of change, they would actually die. Therefore, change is essential to life!
Granbury, Texas is a wonderful community about 35 miles southwest of Fort Worth, Texas. This is a great place to call home. There are many single family homes in all price ranges throughout the greater Granbury area.
Lake Granbury is the damed up portion of the Brazos River creating a winding and beautiful topography. The many wonderful neighborhoods around the area provide home owners with a wide variety of single family home choices.
