public speaking: Father Time

The main reason I joined Toastmasters International was so I could better speak to an audience while discussing an emotional subject. Most of the time I speak it's on an emotional subject and I have a hard time doing it without getting all choked up. The following is a portion of last nights speech titled Father Time.

NO! However when I first heard of Toastmasters 35 years ago that is what I envisioned. It was not until I attended my 1st meet this year that I found out what really goes on at those Toastmaster meetings. I hope you will listen in and learn to today's Radio Broadcast and/or podcast and see if Toastmasters maybe something that interests you. public speaking: I Propose A Toast

After putting it off for about 45 years I finally made it to Toastmasters. Minot Toastmasters 636 meets every Tuesday at the Grand International Hotel at 6:00 PM in The Board Room. My 17 year old son Timmothy and I attended together. The Toastmasters is much more than I expected. I knew it would be a be a good experience for each of us and for different reasons. Timmothy has a hard time expressing himself verbally, which it ends up was the reason about 50% of the participants were there, and I want to improve my speaking for my on air radio speaking.
