exceeding expectations: Not every relationship needs to be saved. - 08/22/22 07:11 AM
Not every relationship needs to be saved.

A woman borrows $1,500 from a friend, promising to pay it back as soon as possible. For several years, she was asked to honor the past agreement. Instead of doing the right thing, she sends a letter from an attorney, with a cease and desist demand to stop harassing his client.

Is that any way to treat someone who was there to help?

Every relationship depends on honesty between parties. If that is lacking, there is no trust. When someone gives you their word, they are bound by a promise but do not always follow through. This is … (16 comments)

Thanksgiving 2021: Industry Success

Transitioning from working many years for a home builder to building a real estate business came with many challenges. One of the biggest was treating it as a business rather than a job.

No longer was a boss going to hand me a check every two weeks, it was up to me to find viable sources to bring in buyers and sellers. I took classes and went to seminars to gain knowledge.

I teamed up with a mentor and was able to get a listed property sold quickly, by also bringing in the buyer. I was like a sponge, paying … (18 comments)

Upping the Standard From Ordinary to Exemplary!

In any profession, there are those who put in 110% and then some who get by with minimal effort. Our daughter-in-law is proof that when you consistently embrace the challenge and move forward with confidence, the rewards are endless.

We are so very proud of our daughter Devyn and all that has been accomplished during her tour in the United States Navy. Not only has she received a Navy Achievement Medal but also made Junior Sailor of the Year for the Pacific Northwest.

She has exceeded her obligation and duties to the Navy and we are excited to see what … (7 comments)

exceeding expectations: Re-homing for a living. - 01/05/17 03:11 PM
Re-homing for a living.

As I approach the 10th year in real estate, many past experiences come to mind...

Being chased up the street by an angry tenant who refused to show the home because he didn't want to move
I let the dogs out while canvassing a neighborhood one day when the woman opened the door
A client and I cried in my office after the bank refused to allow the short sale to go through
My clients built a beach house above St. George and totally pulled it off with an infinitely line pool
After searching for a lock box, it was found hanging in a tree limb, covered by … (11 comments)

exceeding expectations: I BUSTED a CAP! - 09/17/16 01:48 AM
I BUSTED a CAP!

As an incentive for increased business and for encouraging individual sales goals, PK Real Estate Utah has implemented a cap program. Once an agent pulls in an agreed upon dollar amount, the brokerage allows 100% fee free structure for the remainder of the year.

Right before I left work on Friday evening, there was a message in my in-box from an owner of the PK Utah Real Estate Utah brokerage:

"Congrats on capping!!!! Great job. I just wanted to let you know how proud we are to have you. It's agents like you that make PK a great place and well respected brokerage in town. This really is awesome … (8 comments)

Treat 'em right and the rest follows!

We all hold the power to be successful based on tried and true work standards. From experience, exceeding client expectations also leads to more business opportunities.

Treating people with care, following up and through creates trust between parties and ensures the rest will follow. Suggestions that may help:
Being available Putting clients needs first Maintaining a positive attitude Finding solutions to problems quickly  Remaining diligent when researching information
And the rest will follow! Wishing you a very happy, productive and prosperous 2016. It's UP TO YOU!

exceeding expectations: Show up... - 09/24/15 11:30 PM
Show up...
I gladly have a lifetime front row seat to our family's happenings. Is it ever enough just to show up? Not in my opinion, it takes being present with your heart and leaving the ego behind.

And in business, putting the ultra ego in check while keeping the clients goals in mind will also serve a person well. Happy sales all!

Here's looking at you kid! ~ Nerdin Gardens

As summer winds down, giving way to fall, many plants are nearing the end of their growing cycles. Where vivid greens and vibrant blooms once stayed, tans, yellows and browns are now in garden fashion.

Cooler temperatures, along with shorter days determine the work day for many still foraging for daily food. Early risers net better results when meeting the day, rather than chasing time.

Continue making a show of it by getting up, dressing up and making an appearance. The desire to achieve goals dwells in every living being but the instinct to survive is a fight to … (14 comments)
