I Love Candles Photo by Joanna Kosinska on Unsplash Many years ago when our children were very young, we started an old-fashioned ritual. We eat dinner by candlelight. The candlelight creates a sweet atmosphere and most of the time it's been great! However, there've been a handful of times when our candlelight dinner was disastrous. Like the time our cat jumped on the table and her tail caught fire. All four of us tried to grab her as she frantically jumped to the floor and dashed to the living room. Or the time our daughter knocked over one of the candles and hot wax poured all over our oak table. Or the (2 comments)
She's being transferred to Virginia soon so we've been searching for a home for a little over a month. What a fun experience! Using Facetime, we are able to talk to her as we tour houses in Virginia. - 02/16/17 06:09 AM
An egress window is required in every bedroom including basements. Code varies depending on where you live. Many homes for sale in Washington DC, Virginia and Maryland pre-date code requirements. If you are replacing windows in an older home, it's a good time to consider bringing the basement windows up to code and making an egress window. This video shows an egress window in Silver Spring Maryland.

exclusive buyer agents in dc: 5 Things a Home Buyer Should Never See
- 02/15/17 10:41 AM
A recent house tour ended abruptly when buyers made a mad dash out the front door. I couldn't coax them back in and there was no way they would be writing an offer on the property. What happened?
