The most festive building in Downtown Denver can be found across from the State Capitol Building. Each year Denver's City and County Building is dressed up for a show!
Traffic moves slowly so you have plenty of time to drive the family car by. Or if you are a serious photographer, be sure to visit on a night when the turn off the street lights on Bannock. Otherwise the ordinary lights ruin the festive colorful lights in your shot.
Here's another angle that is my favorite. The building is too huge to be able to capture it completely close up. One has to walk about halfway across the Civic Center Park to be able to get the entire building.
This one was shot looking over a soldier's shoulder on the steps of the Colorado State Capitol Building. I like to think this soldier came home to a wonderful warm welcome, the city all aglow with thanks for his service!
