Jimmy Buffett and real estate all in one blog!

I just saw this on the Buffetworld website. Apparently Jimmy and Jane Buffett just sold their Palm Beach estate for 18.5 million. The tax appraisal on the home was 23.3 million so it would be easy to say the Buffetts have felt a $5million crunch of the housing bubble. On the other other hand the article does pooint out that they bought the home in 1994 for $4.4 million. Proving what I have been saying for a long time. Real estate is a long term investment. Don't wait to but real estate .... buy real estate then wait!

According to the Palm Beach Daily News, Jimmy Buffett has sold his Midtown estate in Palm Beach, Florida for $18.5 million:

Jimmy and Jane Buffett’s Midtown estate has sold for $18.5 million, according to a deed filed today at the Palm Beach County courthouse.

The buyer has not yet been identified.

Gary, Margaritaville hotel is opening soon in Pensacola. I think on that part of the deal the hotel owner is paying a licensing fee to use the Margaritaville name. There is also going to be a Margaritaville restaurant opening on the property in the next year or so.

Whether you love hgis music or not, he is absolutely one of the smartest business people in the music business.
