Wilmette, IL Homes for Sale
Wilmette is more affordable than Winnetka, Kenilworth, or Glencoe. Usually, more than half of the homes are listed for under $1 million.
Wilmette is a popular place to live - it offers excellent schools, great shopping, and lots of
really good restaurants. It has an immense lakefront park - Gillson Park - which has a beach, playground, tennis courts, an outdoor music arena, and lots of green space.

Wilmette is fairly large for a North Shore village and runs several miles west from Lake Michigan to the west of the Eden's Expressway, giving it a long narrow shape.
The least expensive homes are split levels and ranches that are in West Wilmette and the most expensive homes are found in the "CAGE" area of east Wilmette, and in Indian Hill Estates in central Wilmette. Central School serves the CAGE area and Romona School serves Indian Hill Estates.
Avoca School, actually located in Glenview, serves a small population of Wilmette in the southwest section of the village.
The Kenilworth Gardens area of Wilmette has always been hot - the signature look is homes that are situated close together on smaller lots. Prices here range from around $700,000 to $1,300,000. Harper School is the elementary school and all Wilmette schools feed into New Trier High School.
Another hot spot is McKenzie Square which offers in a similar price range to Kenilworth Gardens. Their elementary school is McKenzie.
Architecturally, homes in Wilmette run the gamut - from modern splits to Tudors to Victorians to new construction. Some buyers appreciate the abundance of charm in a turn-of-the-century home, while others beat a path to the newer homes.
