Laramie, Wyoming Real Estate: Another Question that Made Me Smile

Man in Kiddi pool
Yesterday, I talked about a question that always makes me smile.  As you can imagine, I get asked all kinds of questions - some easier to answer than others.  Some questions get asked all the time and I'm ready with an answer and others are one of a kind - like the time someone asked me if they could find a house in Laramie that had a swimming pool

As you may have noticed from yesterday's post - it's a bit on the chilly side here.  Additionally, we are not a town of great wealth, so as far as I know, no one has their own indoor pool, eitherThough, I have heard rumors of a house with a lap pool.....

We have a great community pool, a pool at our high school and two pools at the University of Wyoming.  But if someone is looking for house with a pool... it isn't going to happen.

Fortunately, I think that people are generally aware that pools are not standard for most of the inland states.  So I'm thinking they don't really expect to find one.

While I don't expect this question to come up again for quite a while, if it does, it will definitely make me SMILE!

Brenda, I was used to pools everywhere in Las Vegas -  but you're right there aren't too many in Wyoming.  There should be more - they would get lots of use for ice skating. LOL

Like Wyoming, North Dakota isn't rich in pools either but I remember one home that I was absolutely shocked to find a pool in. It was in a modest neighborhood and from the street it appeared to be a modest size home. I owned a Welcome Wagon business and I was telling these newcomers that we had a great pool at the Y and he said "I'd just go swimming there" and he pointed at a pool through a window I thought was a picture window but it was a glass separating the room from the "pool room". I was amazed and felt a little silly for not noticing it earlier.

I guess you won't be shocked to hear that indoor pools are not unheard of in certain neighborhoods in Jackson... But for the rest of us, we have an incredible rec center!

Hey, Gary - You might be on to something there.....;-)

Bob "Real Man" - Never, never thought North Dakota would have a house with a pool!  Bet you never forget that house...

Hi Tim - No I'm not surprised to hear that Jackson has a home with a pool, but I am surprised that there's more than one!

Just last week my daughter told me a friend of hers saw a house with an indoor pool. If I had one of those, I think the chlorine smell would bother me all the time!

Hey,  Joe!  And I am smiling - thanks!

Hi, Pat!  I think we are pretty darn similar to Montana.  When ever I read Wanda's Blog from Montana I am always amazed at some of the similarities of our regions.  And judging from the pictures you've posted, I'd say Indianapolis is much different, but better, in climate.... but I'll take our state population any day!  LOL

Brenda-I show a home last year that had a swinning pool in the basement and it was a short sale home for $450,000.  The mortgage company, made the owner, fill it in because of the liability.  Weird.

Joetta - The extra humidity might be nice but good point - I wonder if the chlorine smell infiltrates the house...

Hi Will - Wow, if it was a functional pool in reasonably good condition - what a waste!  I'll bet the owner was not overjoyed....
