These bunch of characters that we have read about continue to teach us about their lives while we are living ours were just like us. There is nothing new under the sun...but perhaps new to you. Mankind has experienced all sorts of woes, but for each there is the first time to learn and grow and it smarts...
MOSES...WHO WOULD HAVE THOUGHT..?
Moses started out pretty bad, but he didn't know it. He was an unwanted child and cast adrift. He ends up being the son of Pharaoh which was he highest calling you can have. He loses the highest calling you can have when he committed a murder and left Egypt. He then sinks lower than sand only to come back as a close friend of God almighty.
SAMSON..TAKES A LICKIN KEEPS ON TICKIN
Samson was part of the Judges that Israel needed and wanted to help keep them in line. He starts out very good and ends up on a bad note because he has lust issues that he cannot tame. He gets into trouble over it and falls lower than a man could stand. He repents and is lifted up into the presence of God and exits on a good note..
KING DAVID...OVER BUT NOT OUT
King David found the peace of God as a worthless tender of sheep from an early age and progressed in favor with God and men accomplishing astonishing feats and then elected King only to fall back and rely on cheating, lusting, lying and murdering before repenting of all his dastardly deeds ending up living a rougher life than he had to
COLUMBUS...TOOK RISKS AND HISTORY TOOK NOTES
Columbus a man of dreams and no resources until he wheedled his way in high places pitching some of those dreams and even embellishing a little just to get them started. Eventually he reached the King and Queen and got their blessing to sail into unknown waters searching for land with wealth and risking his life to do so. The rest is history
