Localism Challenge, Day #18: Women of Worth
The following is some information about an upcoming conference at my church here in the Orlando area (Aloma is actually in Winter Park). It's an event I won't be attending, though- for the W.O.W. (Women of Worth) Conference is for the ladies.
Folks may read this post and say "Dang. He seems kind of 'churchy'"- and that's fine. Today's Sunday, and I didn't leave church that long ago- so it's cool to still be "churchy". And if some don't like that...too bad.
Folks may read this post and say "Dang. He's not a woman- why's he posting about a women's conference?" That's fine, too- because I think women are important. Everyone has a mother, and women are typically the glue holding families together. It's important for women to have good Christian fellowship- where they're free to share their successes and failures, victories and continued struggles amongst each other. This is especially important for women who feel uncomfortable sharing their information amongst mixed company.
Women need to show today's teens and pre-teens that they're beautiful just as God made them and that they should never take a back seat to a man.
They need to let our teen girls know that they're more than special, and that they're worth more than they'll ever know. The best way to do so is to lead by example.
