Muir Terrace is a condominium community within the Monterey Hills development in the city of Los Angeles. Built in 1982, Muir Terrace consists of 90 condominiums in a variety of floor plans ranging in size from one bedroom/one bath to two bedrooms/convertible den/two baths. The units feature in-unit laundry hook-ups and the parking is in subterranean garage. The landscaped grounds include pool, spa, recreation/meeting room, gym and sauna. Upper level units feature higher ceilings and clerestory windows.
Monterey Hills is a hidden treasure in the city of Los Angeles. Located adjacent to South Pasadena and the San Gabriel Valley, the community remains unknown to many despite its highly convenient location. Access to Downtown Los Angeles, both the San Gabriel and San Fernando Valleys as well as Los Angeles' Westside make Monterey Hills a viable alternative for many. The USC Health Science Campus location is approximately four miles from Muir Terrace so you can see why it is a popular location for those attending the medical school.
Currently there are no Muir Terrace condominiums on the market for sale. In January 2012 there was a sale of two bedroom, two bath and den unit. This was a short sale on the second level and it closed for $239,000 -- the total number of days to close was 334 according to our local multiple listing service.
In 2011 there were two sales in Muir Terrace. One, a bank owned sale(two bedroom, two bath, den) sold for $238,000 - this was a top floor unit. The other sale was also on the third floor and was a standard sale that sold for $250,000(two bedrooms, two baths).
2010 reflected three sales. They ranged in price from $240,000(two bedroom/den bank owned unit on the first floor) to $325,000(top floor two bedroom/two bath, standard sale). The average sale for Muir Terrace in 2010 was $285,000.
