Seasonal Beauty

If you are only going to look good for a couple of weeks, you may be related to this usually ordinary looking flower.

It is a plumaria.  Brings new meaning to the word dull until it blooms forth with magnificent bracts and color.

This week was its time to make every other plant in the garden look second rate.

The first year we spent with the plant it did not give us any clue that it could become a show stopper.  All we got was greenery.

Last year the bloom gave us a short period of delight.  This year the bloom has lasted longer.  It has been lovely to watch and we will miss it when it is gone.

Wouldn't it be nice if we made that sort of impact on the people we meet and serve.  Beauty is different for everyone.  It is however always appreciated.

One more natural lesson that we should make the best of all that we are given.  Even if we are only given special gifts once in a while, they are worth enjoying.
