Did You Know The Cost of Mailing That 1st Class Letter Has Increased?

Michael- I bought a few books last week to try to "save" a little bit. I'm expecting a bigger monthly bill for our direct mail campaign as well. I always wonder why they don't just raise is more than a cent so that they have to do it less often.

Hi Michael - We use snail mail for so little these days that the impact of this rate increase is simply an annoyance. The postal service is an expensive dinosaur and has failed pretty much every attempt to keep its relevance - it's unlikely to survive much longer.

Hi Michael - thanks for the reminder - still the best deal in town when you need to use the postal service. With that said mailing a lot of real estate postcards always seems like an expensive endeavor! Regards Dave

It is one of those things the post office does with great regularity.  However, based on what our clients are reporting back from using snail mail, it is worth that additional penny and much more.  Everything is how one decides to perceive it, which is what makes life so fascinating.  A

I meant to pick up some stamps before the increase and never did get around to it. Oh well.  I didn't even know they were .45, I thought they were still .44 because I buy Forever stamps so I have no clue what postage costs!

Michael - I knew a rate increase was coming, but totally forget when it was going to happen.  Great reminder!

Michael I knew about it as well....Diane was in line so I called her and asked her to pick up some forever stamps.....Guess What they were SOLD OUT:))

The USPS should be put out of business.  But with the support of the Federal Government and the Unions, it will just continue on with never-ending price increases.

Michael - I had no clue this price increase was taking place, thankfully the only time I really mail anything these days is at Christmas time.

Michael, It just keeps going up. I wish they would raise it 2 or 3 cents and then leave it alone for awhile. Oh and to answer your question about short sales and foreclosure under $100000 yes there are still quite a few probably 40% of the market.

Thanks for the reminder Michael!! I knew it was coming and purhased some forever stamps last month. I agree with Barbara, this is good news for those who do direct mail, less competition!

Michael- I had marked it on my calendar so just bought more Forever Stamps last week.  I don't use as many as I used to but still, they're handy to have around. 

Michael, it is essential that the United States Postal Service continue to operate... and not close any of their existing rural branches.  These little Post Offices in these one-stop-sign towns are for many the only connection that they have to either mail or receive letters or packages from the rest of the country.

Regardless of the Internet, and email and such, there is still nothing quite like getting a letter or a greeting card from someone... through the mail.

Not everything has to break even or make a profit, money-wise.  Some things need to be done simply because they need to be done.

The Post Office is NOT a business, nor was it meant to be.  It is a governmental SERVICE.

This would be a bargain at today’s rates Michael. I hope you have a wonderful weekend🙂
