Being Grateful ... Day 7 ... Spending Free Time Digging in the Dirt!!

I don't know about you, but I love to get outside and dig in the dirt.  This morning I had a little free time and our little flower bed around our mail box needed prepared for fall.  I had so much fun cutting back the rose bushes, weeding, digging out old dirt and adding fresh dirt plus mulching.  I also put in some small winter pansies.

Flower Bed

I get so much satisfaction with the finished product and will enjoy those tiny little pansy faces all winter long.

Judith, I love working with the plants when the weather is nice and I have plenty of time. Don't enjoy it at all when I'm in a hurry.

Hi Connie, it was a beautiful morning here in the Carolinas and the perfect morning to do some digging.  I really enjoyed.  I have to agree with you ... do not enjoy if I am in a hurry to do something else.

Oh Judith I dare not let Debbie see your dirt diggin' post.  Since her surgery she's on NO DIRT DIGGIN' for 6-8 weeks and it's about to kill her but I know she's thankful for those who are out enjoying it.  Dig on.........

Very nice Judith.   My wife likes to dig in the dirt, but not me!

Hi John, wishing Debbie a great recovery so she can begin enjoying her time in the dirt as well.  It is therapy!  Have a great evening.

Hi Jared ... it is a great way to be outside and clear your head as you dig.  I get such satisfaction by doing it and really enjoy the flowers when they bloom.

Judith, digging in the dirt can be very therapeutic, it's good for the soul and usually produces a beautiful result! Good for you!

Very pretty Judith, but in our area they would be buried after the first snow when the plows ran up the road, If the frost didn't get them first

Hi Judith ~ Your post inspired me!  Late this afternoon just before it started turning dark, I went out to my front yard and did some much-needed pruning and tidying up of the flower beds.  My dog Maggie "helped" me by making sure all the dogs walking by were friendly ones :-)  I'm going to get some of those winter pansies and put them in a pot near my front door ... they'll provide some nice color through the dreary winter months.
