5 Amazing Photography Apps for Your Real Estate Photos!

Services for Real Estate Pros with RealSupport Inc.

If you're a regular reader, then you already know that our Real Estate Virtual Assistant team are big proponents of using smart phone and mobile capabilities to streamline your day and make your busy life as a real estate professional a bit easier! When selling a home, the right photography can easily make or break a listing. With the vast majority of real estate searches taking place online and in the comfort of potential buyers' homes, it is imperative to ensure that your listing features high-resolution, quality photographs that accurately represent the property. It can be a fine line - You certainly don't want to market the house as much grander than it actually is, particularly if it is a distressed property or there will be work needed upfront, but you also don't want potential buyers to bypass the listing because of bad photography. Our Real Estate Virtual Assistant team suggests ensuring that photos are:

  • High resolution,
  • Crisp and clear (with no blurriness),
  • Light and bright (not too dark and not overly exposed),
  • All encompassing (showing as much of a room as possible within the frame).

Professional real estate photographers can get quite pricy, very quickly. However, there are several photo apps available that can do wonders for a standard picture taken with your average digital camera - And may even save you money on professional photography! Here are five amazing photo apps that we suggest checking out, experimenting with and even integrating into your professional life:

  • Snapseed: An incredibly user-friendly photo app, Snapseed lets professionals quickly and easily edit their pictures. Like Instagram, its more famous counterpart, Snapseed allows you to apply filters and quickly share the photos on your social media platforms. However, this app takes it a bit further by including some more advanced editing tools within the app, such as saturation, lighting, textures and frames.
  • Takes: Takes is an innovative app that allows the user to take photos and have them turned into video. A great option for real estate professionals who want an app that can turn a series of property photos into an easy virtual tour, you can also choose a musical soundtrack for your video. You can choose up to 15 photos for each video and even add filters!
  • 360Panorama: This app allows the user to take panoramic photos of any scene - An excellent option for real estate professionals who can't quite fit everything into a standard picture. If regular photos just aren't doing certain aspects of your listing justice, then invest in 360Panorama to take clear panoramic pictures that give the viewer a more accurate idea of the floorplan and layout.
  • Diptic: Quite possibly one of the most advanced photo collage apps available, Diptic lets users combine photos to create beautiful before-and-after images or more in-depth collages. Offering over 100 layouts to choose from, the user can position their pictures to create a photographic series and then apply filters, adjust contrasts, colors, lighting, saturation and more. You can even add text over the photos to specify each room, if necessary. Let your imagination run wild with this one!
  • Handy Photo: An in-depth photo editing app, Handy Photo features a crop tool, a movement tool that allows for object moving within a photo and a variety of different filters and textures. Additionally, Handy Photo also offers adjustments such as color, tone, brightness, saturation and warmth. Great for the real estate professional as well as the photo afficionado, this app offers a great deal of complex features in a user-friendly, mobile platform.

There are many photography apps available, whether you use iOS or an Android and no matter what your real estate photo needs may entail! Take some time to explore what all is available to you and become familiar with the different apps, their functions and capabilities. As always, if you have any questions for our Real Estate Virtual Assistant team, we are always available!

I am going to have to check some of these out!  Do you happen to know if any of the apps allow you to virtually change the color of the front door on a photo?

I've used all of these except Takes and Handy Photo. Handy Photo looks pretty cool, I just "bumped " it on Apps Gone Free, let's see if they'll make it free for a while!

Megan~ Photography is not my strong suit. These apps could be useful in our business. I'm also somewhat tech ignorant. Can these apps be used on my laptop? Are they free?

Photo apps are becoming increasingly popular among those involved in the real estate business, it's a fact. I've recently wrote an article about how real estate professionals can gain major benefits from using photo editing apps.

Technology is taking over, that’s for sure.
