Lincoln Park, Los Angeles, CA a bit of history of Los Angeles, CA!
Most people think Los Angeles is all bout "new" and has been barely around. Well let me dispell this myth. I have been going to a Tile place in Alhambra... (blog food for a later time)
On my way home I kept driving by this park. I was amazed at the beautiful sculptures and neat layout...needless to say I was busy or on the phone so I could not focus on it.
Well today I managed to take somepicutures and I was able to realize what I discovered. Lincoln Park!
So let's get back to Lincoln Park. The park is located at the intersection of Valley Boulevard and Mission Road. It so happens that is is one of Los Angeles's first parks. It was created by the City of Los Angeles in 1881 from land donated by John S Griffin.
It was originally called East Los Angeles Park, then it was calle Eastlake Park in 1901 and finally in 1917 it was renamed Lincoln Park. How about that, and here we are in 2015 and it is still called Lincoln Park.
I can hardly wait to go back to find a parking space and stroll around the park and get a closer look instead of just driving by and taking some photos. The park is close to Downtown if you are driving:)
So hopefully in the near future you will see another post, in the mean time enjoy the pictures.
