Santa Clara County Library Cards Now Free For All Local Residents
by REALTOR Michelle Carr Crowe
As of July 1, 2015, the Santa Clara County Library District is now offering free library cards to all County residents, regardless of which city or town they reside in.
Previously, most residents of cities with their own libraries (such as San Jose, Santa Clara, Los Gatos and Sunnyvale) that did not financially support the County library system, had to pay $80 annually for a card.
Residents who already have active library cards don't need to take any action.
For questions about this new (reversion to the old) system or an account, please call (800) 286-1991, Mon.-Fri. from 8:30 am-5 pm or visit the local Santa Clara County library.
