Even with previewing a luxury condo this morning first thing on New Year's Day, I made it to the Waikiki Yacht Club to climb on board my cousin's motor boat, the "Nauty Gal" to head out. Seems that there is a major party at the club on this day for members, followed by a motorboat race to Diamond Head and back. My cousin's boat is the marker and race committee and everything else for this fun annual event.
And it's not like a whole lot of boats show up for it. I believe we had three with a fourth getting a bit of a late start. One of the boats was a "ringer", yes, it ran rings around the others at a pretty fast clip. So you think it would have won, right? Nope, it was having so much fun going all out out there, that it didn't come over the official finish line!
So who did win it?
The plodder, the one who took at least another half an hour to get over the finish line.
"And had the best bikini gal on board."
