You don't have to be licensed to buy/sell Real Estate. I run into people all day long that claim it, comment steadily about it and have all the answers plus reasons and stories on how it all works. It is the one industry that everyone says they know so much about. It makes you wonder then why do people take courses and actually get licensed?
BUY & SELL
Are those that went through the licensing hoops wasting their time? I mean what is so hard about selling or buying something? We all, since we were kids, have been doing that starting with penny candy & working our way up to more expensive & necessary items. Who hasn't sold bought or sold?
WE WILL TALK ABOUT IT
Furthermore, what could go wrong with a Real Estate transaction with all the family, friends and good natured people out there just waiting to to give support, help and directions? And then, if that is not enough, we have the INTERNET which is the tell all (?) about everything?
THIS CINCHES IT
The Internet will explain in detail how to buy, sell and navigate in the Real Estate arenas. All you have to do is Google anything and everything having to do with the subject; then, many will either copy & paste or make notes, discuss with your friends, make a few phone calls and you are Real Estating!
WHATS THIS?
One of the places the zealous, ambitious and eager to get started should visit with is the civil litigation courtrooms and listen in to some of the live lawsuits in regards to Real Estate. There are tens of thousands of different scenarios, all causes of actions by everyone who thought this or that was the way to go, went that way, refused to budge & there they are. You see the other fellow felt the same way too
OPINIONS NEED TESTING
Now, those beliefs are being tested, challenged and reviewed to see if what someone thought was the right way is really that or did they run into an assumption or discussion point that was waived off and injured someone else involved? The court will sort it out to be sure. The third party will speak
GO WEST
I was reading about the gold rush of 1849 and everyone who could read or listen was talking about it. The race to get out west was on and many support services connected to it were born. No one knew anything about what was really needed so anything goes was offered in the way of advice
PEOPLE IN THE KNOW
For the ones that had been there & done that, they became in demand and sought after. Why? There was no guesswork involved in regards to the subject matter. These professionals knew what was required, what worked & what didn't & gave you a significant edge over all the hype & experimenting.
I CAN DO THIS
Many who sought their fortunes lost a fortune doing it as well as their lives. The journey and the going about getting your share of gold didn't allow for do-overs, starting again or learning as you go. One mistake could wipe you out & it often did. Hundreds of thousands came but not all prospered
"SIGHT" THIS
Hindsight is an interesting dynamic. We all have it and use it. It is wisdom after the fact. We all know, assuming we live to tell about it, what we should have done or could have done. It is so clear and many who have lived a while can attest to hindsight. We need insight which is wisdom in the moment
IF I ONLY KNEW?
Ask anyone this question. Is there anything you would have done differently if you could. Have a seat as experience, seasoned people tell their never-ending stories about what they found out after the fact. You probably as you are reading this have a few dozen of your own on various subjects
THE SMART KNOW THIS
There are certain subjects that have to be outsourced to be accomplished in life. Everyone must learn what their limitations are and when to hire up and seek counsel and services in subjects that are not clear or present themselves as easy to do. Watch the ones that appear too easy as well.
LEARNING CURVES ARE REAL
In anything, there is always start-up. This is when anything that can happen will happen. Everyone has their personal learning curve stories as well. In fact, there is something called the fog of war that is very interesting and teaches well. Pay this heed....
PREPARE FOR THE WORSE & HOPE FOR THE BEST
The military can train you, arm you and teach you as well as drill you to a fine sharp edged performing weapon or skills agent and then deploy you to where you are needed. But the one thing they cannot teach or promise is what will actually happen when you get there and begin.
FOG OF WAR
The actual circumstances, which are unknown, that are being engaged will teach the lesson at that time and mind this; Murphy's law respects no one. What can wrong will go wrong. Then, all hope that their training offsets the surprises and allows for an outcome in their favor. We just don't know
THE SALTY VETERAN ADVISER
Anyone who has seen and lived actual combat remains a key adviser and necessary to any operation. So it is with anyone who has experience and even more so for a Real Estate agent who is going to be on point protecting people when hundreds of thousands of dollars are involved.
PROFESSIONAL REAL ESTATE AGENTS
This is money well spent. Knowing this BEFORE hand is the key. Knowing after wards is risky business
