Lots of fun things to do in Charlotte this weekend.. and there's something for everyone. If it's international food and music you like, check out the International Sandwich Festival. If it's art you like, check out the Kings Drive Art Walk. If it's music, crafts you like, check out the Charlotte Hippie Fest. And they're all free admission, as well!

 

 

International Sandwich Festival 2016

 

International Sandwich FestivalThe first ever International Sandwich Festival is taking place on Saturday, April 30th on the front lawn of Aldersgate Retirement Community in East Charlotte, a part of Charlotte known for its great diversity of cultures.

You'll get to enjoy a multicultural celebration of food, drink, and music. Listen and dance to salsa, merenge, jazz. There'll also be children's sing-a-longs and dance performances. You'll get to taste Asian, Latin America, Middle Eastern, and Soul Food.

 

Location: 3800 Shamrock Drive 

Date: Saturday, April 30th

Time: 11:00 am till 7:00 pm

Admission: Free

Parking: Free

Kings Drive Art Walk 

 

Sponsored by Festival in the Park, the 6th annual Kings Drive Art Walk in the Myers Park area offers Charlotteans a great venue to enjoy crafts, music and family entertainment. This year's spring festival will focus on fine and emerging artists and will be held along the Little Sugar Greenway, a newly reclaimed natural waterway between East Morehead Street and Pearle Street Bridge along Kings Drive, featuring over 19 miles of trails.

 

Location:  600 South Kings Drive/Little Sugar Creek Greenway 

Dates: Saturday, April 30th & Sunday, May 1st

Time: 11:00 am till 6:00pm on Saturday

            11:00 am till 5:00 pm on Sunday

Admission: Free

Charlotte Hippie Fest

 

Charlotte Hippie FestivalA bohemian artistic gathering and marketplace, Charlotte Hippie Fest is presented by Charlotte's Open Air Market and features more than 300 local artists and vendors. And you can enjoy the best of Charlotte's food truck offerings and great music while you stroll, shop and get in touch with your hippe self!

 

Location: Old Eastland Mall Site - 5471 Central Avenue

Date: Saturday, April 30thth

Admission: Free

Schedule: 

11:00 am - 300+ artists and vendors open for business
11:00 am - Food trucks open 
11:00 am - Flea market area opens
Noon - Group Paint Party begins
Noon - DIY Tie-Dye begins
1:00 pm - Drum Circle
2:00pm - Hippie Fest Circle Dance
3:00 pm - Local music smile emoticon
