A Trip to Amsterdam

Our older daughter spent a semester in Amsterdam while in college at USC and we took our younger daugher for a week-long visit, about 15 years ago. This was the view from our daughter's dorm window! Hard to take.

Amsterdam is an enchanting city in many ways, and very walkable (but watch out for all the bicyclists - Amsterdam is often touted as one of the most bicycle-friendly cities in the world). Great food, wonderful musuems, breathtaking architecture, and beautiful canals combined for an amazing visit!

It was a wonderful trip and I would love to go back some day. We did not get out in the country where all the windmills and tulips are and would enjoy seeing that area!

Hi Jeff Dowler CRS ... My son Jeff just got back from a 10 day visit to Amsterdam. He totally loved it and I really enjoyed his many stories and photos. He said it was one of the most beautiful places he's ever seen and getting around was really easy and inexpensive. Everytime I talk to him the past couple of weeks he states, "Why can't we have public transportation like that here in the Seattle area?" He mentioned some stats on bicycles. There's more bikes than residents! And... The view from my dorm room in college was no where near that beautiful! :O)

Amsterdam is well worth a visit, and I would return in a heartbeat. That said, there are plenty of other places I would go to in Europe, too - either return trips or first discoveries

Amsterdam is pretty impressive, but then Europe is too, in many ways. We could learn alot. Public transportation there is so much better, as just one example.
