The Weekend Wine Review is a weekly series I will do on Monday’s featuring the wine tasted over the weekend. We took and friend out to dinner that just had celebrated a milestone birthday. I will let Bob tell you about the restaurant. Our friend is a wine lover as well so we let him pick the wine. He picked a 2013 The Chocolate Block, from South Africa. South African Wines are really getting noticed now. The wine was intense with a heavy flavor of spice, chocolate and chewy. This wine has mostly Syrah, with the following added as well Grenache, Cinsault and Cabernet Sauvignon in the blend. It went perfectly with our Buffalo Steaks. I am now trying to find where to buy this it runs under $30 a bottle and well worth it if you can find it.
