The Deckhand Oyster Bar was launched with the idea of having a seafood restaurant with a family atmosphere, and moderately priced seafood giving you a laid-back casual dining experience. They have succeeded offering up the finest seafood whether you like it Asian (roe-topped oysters), Cajun (boudin), Thai-style (tom yum seafood soup) or Texan (crab stuffed jalapenos); and whether you like it grilled, broiled or fried.
The Austin Chronicle says it’s possibly the best seafood restaurant in Central Texas. On the Shrimp, Oyster, Mussel menu you’ll find Deckhand Oysters – shucked oysters brushed with a white wine infused with garlic butter, then broiled, re-brushed with butter and topped with fried garlic bit. On the Broiler menu – there’s La Frontera Snapper – a 9oz. filet topped with pico de gallo and Monterrey Jack cheese. Or try the Seafood Stuffed Flounder – a whole flounder stuffed with crabmeat stuffing. You might also like the Zach Seared Salmon from the Outrigger Specials menu – salmon lightly seasoned with lemon pepper pan seared with vegetables, while rice and a green apple salad.
For dessert you won’t want to miss the Key Lime Margarita Cheesecake Cake – key lime cheesecake and margarita cake layered and frosted with key lime curd and cream cheese buttercream, decorated with toasted coconut mungbean cake.
