Judy Carr's 8 Halloween Safety Tips for Treats, 5 Make a Stopwatch Fun
by San Jose REALTOR Michelle Carr Crowe
My late mother, San Jose real estate legend Judy Carr, loved Halloween fun. She had a system for Halloween safety, too. This eight-part series will share "Judy Carr's 8 Halloween Safety Tips for Treats" from one to eight through to Halloween.
Judy Carr's 8 Halloween Safety Tips for Treats, 5 Make a Stopwatch Fun
5) Make a stopwatch part of the fun. If the total time allotted for trick-or-treating is 1 hour for trick-or-treating, the leader (adult or teenager in charge), sets the stopwatch first for 30 minutes, then 20, then 10, then 5, then 3 then 1. That way everyone is aware of the time countdown, which reduces the likelihood of tantrums when it's time to return home to view the loot.
1) Wear the right shoes!
2) Wear warm underclothes.
3) Make glow sticks and snap-together glow tubes part of the fun.
4) Use reflective tape in costume and container design.
Have a Safe & Fun Halloween!
