The Mueller Tower Lighting has been a tradition that began since 1961 when the tower was completed. They light up the “NOEL” on the top of the tower every holiday season until there was an energy crisis and which led to the City implementing conservation period during the 1970’s. The said holiday lights on the tower were lit every holiday season from 1982 until the airport closed in 1999.
