Celtic Women Home For Christmas Symphony Tour concert kilt it in St. George, Utah!
Last night, after much anticipation, my husband and I arrived at the Burns Arena at Dixie State University campus in St. George, Utah to experience the angelic voices of Celtic Woman. The fiddle player was entrancing as she glided across the stage plucking the strings in a lively dance.
Celtic Woman is celebrating 12 years of success, with over 10 million albums and 3 million tickets sold worldwide. They are an all-female Irish musical ensemble, conceived and created by David Kavanagh, a former musical director of the Irish stage show River-dance. This was their last Christmas show of the year and they were recently nominated for a Grammy.
Speaking of kilts...
“The show is a joyful fusion of all things Celtic - from bagpipes and bouzouki. But it’s also so much more than that. It’s a universal celebration of life. It’s traditional. It’s contemporary. It’s yesterday, today and tomorrow.” – Dave Kavanagh (Executive Producer). The first ever Celtic Woman performance was recorded in 2004 for PBS television at The Helix, Dublin, Ireland.
The spirit of Celtic Woman continues to captivate audiences all over the world. We are so lucky to have experienced it right here in St. George, Utah!
