There are some great Realtors ® who mentor even though they learned on their own... the sink or swim way.
They learned by going to EVERY class, course, read everything related to RE, listened to speakers, seasoned agents and CE instructors!
They drank from the fire hose of knowledge.
I remember going out on a dare for my first listing. My then manager just shook his head. I thought I did something wrong even though I got the listing. He just hadn't seen a listing taken the Rome way.
I was fearless and that was a good thing.
When I hear less successful agents say.."no one showed or told me that."
I cringe a bit. This is a self motivated business. Don't expect to be spoon fed but do appreciate when someone takes time to share their wisdom.
If you find someone who you like and respect and someone who is kind and generous to take the time to mentor you or just share their wisdom...you are very lucky.
Pay it forward with others.
We can learn every day from brand new agents...when they try something new, a new approach and a new success.
We all teach each other, including seasoned professionals.
It is what makes this business better for buyers and sellers.
We learn from our own team members, we learn from other agents, we learn from other professionals and we learn from our own buyers and sellers...but don't expect to be spoon fed.
Learning real estate is a building block that takes time, dedication and many kinds of transactions and experiences.
Who have you learned from lately?
