Is direct mail effective? If I had a dime for every time I was asked, I could enjoy a nice dinner out with my wife.  

 

Despite the proliferation of digital marketing, people still adhere to their daily ritual of walking to their mailbox, examining every single piece of mail before decisioning whether to keep or toss.

Either way, your message is guaranteed to be seen.

Direct mail is most effective when it is a consistent part of an overall ongoing marketing program.  This way you are getting your brand and message into the mailbox 6-12 times per year.

One-off mailers are ok if you are sending to a highly targeted audience based on geography.

For example, a postcard for an arts and crafts fair within 3 miles would be strong.


Otherwise, a one time mailer to "experiment" or "test" is a recipe for failure.

Repitition is an ingredient to success. Pass judgement on your direct mail campaign after you've allowed it to work for a while.

 

Smart business owners work with direct mail experts who cna consult with them to save them money on a) design b) print and c) postage.

 

There are multiple types of diredct mail postage rates and multiple sizes and formats to choose from. For example, Every Door Direct Mail is an option that allows you to target specific streets and a lower postage rate.

 

Allow an expert to advise you on best options.
