This email, received today, is not unusual of how the selling process begins.
"We’re thinking of selling our house and moving to a condo'. We’d like to meet with you before we make any decisions to see what we can get for this house and what needs to be done before we put it on the market.
I’m sure you’ll want to see the house before you can estimate its potential selling price, so can you come over late next week, say Friday or Saturday? That’ll give me time to clean up the various messes in all the rooms. It won’t give me time to clean up the hideous basement, however, so you’ll have to see that in its current ghastly state.
Our decision to move is far from final, however, as there are many things to consider.''
Many times people call with questions about moving. Sometimes this conversation takes place one, two or three years before they actually move forward. This is not an easy choice for many reasons. Some have been in their homes for 20-30-40 or more years. There have been changes, maybe the loss of a spouse, retirement, declining health, family issues and so many more.
It doesn't cost anything to talk, to ask questions to get some help with
your future plans.
That is what a good Realtor® is for.
Answering those concerns not making the decisions.
When the question comes in about selling a home...that does not mean you have to sign a listing agreement. It is a time to get answers.
