Where To Donate Coats

Charlotte Coat DriveSome 50+ donation locations for new and gently-used coats are all over the greater Charlotte metro area. Click here for the full list of donation locations for the Charlotte Coat Drive. Each of the donation locations have clearly marked donation barrels.

If you prefer to make a monetary donation in lieu of a coat, click here to do so. All donations will go toward buying new coats for those in need and will be distributed by the Salvation Army's local programs, including the Center of Hope shelter, Adult Rehabilitation Center, housing programs and Boys & Girls Clubs.

Follow the Charlotte Coat Drive on Facebook.

While our Charlotte winters are moderate compared with many other parts of the country, it still gets cold here in winter months and temperatures can drop to freezing and below at night. With thousands of children wthout warm winter coats, the need in Charlotte is great.

George Souto the Coat Drive is aiming for an extra thousand coats in 2020. Charlotte winters aren't as bad as yours, but it still gets cold here, especially at night.

Nina,

I hope the Salvation Army meets and exceeds their goal. And your post will touch your sphere in donating a coat or two.

We have had a bit of cold weather here lately, shorts are being put away, until next week when it is supposed to warm up.  A

Rocky Dickerson good morning again, Rocky. I'm always astonished by how great the needs are here in the Charlotte area, which is on the whole quite affluent, when it comes to things like food, coats, school supplies. I always try to do my bit by publicising these events on my blog.

I can see why this is such a popular event each year; when it starts to get a little crisp and nippy in the air. I'm glad it goes to a good cause!

Happy Wednesday evening Nina Hollander

Lawrence "Larry" & Sheila Agranoff. Cell: 631-805-4400 hi Sheila... this is one of two big coat drives we have each year, although the other one is very focused on kids. Just boggles the mind that we need so many coats in a city as affluent as Charlotte.

Bob "RealMan" Timm good morning, Bob... always makes me sad to think about how many people in our area are food insecure, don't have adequate warm clothing, be it coats, shoes, socks, don't have money for school supplies.

Jeff Dowler, CRS good morning, Jeff... last year's goal was 5,000 coats, which was 1,000 more than the previous year. This year the goal is 6,000 coats. Somehow, Charlotteans keep stepping up to the plate year after year.
