Speechless Sundays - Something to Write Home About or Is It?

Many moons ago, in college, the bar to reach was whether or not there was something to write home about or not! Well, as an adult, I have joked many times about this level of measurement! This time, I think my Dad would be so proud of me, growing my own vegetables and, more importantly, sharing the harvest with others.

This year's harvest should be the best one I've had - well, let's just say, in decades! Several have savored the lettuce so far this year and we expect many others will be able to enjoy the next harvest - tomatoes.

Tonight's dinner was a simple BLT and some jalapeno poppers - both were abolutely delishous...

BLTs, fresh from the garden

Have a great week ahead!

Hello Debe - Impressive Indeed!  While growing up, my parents had a small area of the yard where we had a vegetable garden.  I remember having to weed but never caught that particular bug but admire those who have cultivated their talent.

Where we are, if I were to ever be 'stuck at home,' I would be quite content, Laura Cerrano! I've really always loved where I live but, my current home offers so much to keep me busy!

Endre Barath, Jr., yes I do remember that story! I thought that may have happened to me this year - we had 2 freezes after we planted. Somehow, some way the tomatoes all survived! I really didn't think they would but couldn't be happier that they have - and everything is going crazy right now. It's certainly nothing compared to your lemon and orange trees but, we'll have a few nice veggie salads out of this one! LOL

My gardening 'bug' has become contagious with local friends and clients, Michael Jacobs! I love watching others try their hand at it for the first time. The excitement of a harvest, whether big or small, makes me smile!

One of my friends started with potted veggies and this year, bought raised container gardens to put on her patio. I'm thoroughly enjoying watching her jubilation!

She sent me this the other day...

Last year was my first every vegetable garden - I LOVED being able to swing by the garden, grab some produce, and then eat it that same day. What a pleasure.

Yours looks fantastic!

One of the greatest joys of growing veggies is sharing with others. Your garden is beautiful, Debe Maxwell, CRS - I wouldn't mind weeding with that view in the background.
