YouTube Thursdays - July 1, 2021
This week, we revisit a YouTube Thursdays Post from March of 2016. It underscores the value of video to transport and awaken a viewers senses. While great photos are essential to marketing real estate, video adds that extra oomph, and has the ability to showcase the lifestyle. A good video can actually transport us to the scene.
We always enjoy servicing our waterfront properties, and this one, located on the Washougal River, was no exception. The waterfall certainly added to the "Nature As Neighbors" magic. In fact, several of the agents who showed the property, referred to as the "magical waterfall house."
Talk about a soothing respite with nature as neighbors. As lovely as the photo is of the river and waterfall, it can't give you the sensation of actually being there. A well-crafted video can do it.
In this case, there was deferred maintenance inside and outside the home due to one of the owner's illness. Therefore, capturing the essence of the property was critical.
The agent who represented the buyers told us her clients fell in love with the house after watching this video. Those of you with keen observation skills will notice the worn deck, and other signs of neglect. It didn't matter, they were buying the views and the lifestyle.
If a picture is worth a thousands words, consider the power of video.
By the way, the buyers met years ago as river guides in Colorado. They say the river speaks their language. Since purchasing it, they have made major renovations to the home, and torn out all the wood decking, replacing it with stone material. Smart choice!
Happy Thursday from Alaska!
