Cashing In Points for People - What ActiveRain is REALLY All About!
I have always been enthralled with Anna Banana’s Point Store. I can’t remember how many years ago it began but, what a genius idea and what a delightful way to get an upbeat conversation between members - and sharing their creativity!
This month’s challenge has taken the Point Store creativity to a whole new level. We read one another’s posts on our respective areas, listen ‘in person’ on our ActiveRain ZOOM call presentations and even refer to many of our members in different areas. So, how cool to incorporate some of those areas in the Point Store challenge this month?
Flying Banana Air (thanks to Gary 'Banana' Houghtaling & Anna) and the unlimited gas from Kathleen Daniels, Probate & Trust Specialist's Mr. Crappy [how lucky are we?]), I would first take flight to visit Carol at Pebble Beach Resort. I would be accompanied by my hubby and two lucky AR members. After filling our boat gas tank recently, I would just like to say, A BIG THANK YOU TO KATHLEEN & MR. CRAPPY!
As I am all about being inclusive, I would have a lottery to select the lucky pair who will be flying with us to Pebble Beach. I know Carol has access to left-handed clubs and I am uber excited about her giving me my very first golf lesson. Who knows? I may love it and we may become road trip buddies for golfing expeditions for years to come!
I would then return home to do a little work, including that pending listing that is in ‘prep mode,’ awaiting a stager. So, I’ll take Kathy up on her Property Brothers offer - gleefully! The Ina Garten open house will be an absolutely blast - I may have to lose a couple more pounds so I can fully indulge! I’m sure that with Kathy at the helm, directing the Property Brothers & Ina Garten, everything will be a raging success!
After getting over the excitement of the celebrity-driven Charlotte home sale, without a doubt, that French château will be calling my name! From one celebrity to another, I am confident that 6-course feast by Endre Barath, Jr. and Alan Ducasse will be AMAZING! The best part is that Ray & I will get to spend time again with Endre & Diane! I will be in for another tour with the wonderful couple - this time, Paris! 😉
Home again, for some quality time with our fur babies and being host and hostess to our own ActiveRain vacation spot! Gary & Anna Banana will be jetting 10 guests and we will be providing limo service to Charlotte’s beautiful Lake Wylie. Hotel Maxwell - the local’s preferred bed-and-breakfast style hotel (as featured in local Charlotte Magazine) - will be prepped and ready for our special guests. Everything will be 100% ready, double & triple-prepped because I plan to enjoy my time with my AR friends!
A week of fun and laughter, sunshine and stunning views, homestyle cooking and craft cocktails is in store for all of us. We’ll be boating on Lake Wylie, swimming, waterskiing, tubing... There will be plenty of relaxation time as well, savoring the wind in your face - recharging. Evening dinners, glowing fire in the fire pits...then, we will underscore the entire day with sunset top shelf cocktails and front and center seating for Mother Nature’s art show in the sky.
After a little more work (points are not going to pay for my hiking equipment I’ll need for this next trip!), we’re off to Montana! Again, hosting a lottery to see who the other 8 guests will be joining Ray and me, Gary & Anna will be firing up the jet for us again. I will 100% be seated at a window seat as I can’t wait to see what drew @Kat to the beautiful state of Montana. While I absolutely love seeing our AR friends online each week, I can’t WAIT to meet and HUG Kat!
Every part of her offering is right up my alley - hiking, horseback riding, fishing - anything outdoorsy is me! And, of course, the city girl in me will thoroughly enjoy the culinary experience, shopping and spa visits! Spending time with 8 other Rainers will be an absolute blast as well. Perhaps we can schedule the same time Brian England visits?! We’d have a nice big group of Rainers too - maybe a mini version of RainCamp?
After 2 weeks, spent with Kat and on that side of the God's country, we’ll jet straight to Veyo, Utah where we will have the pleasure of meeting Wanda Kubat-Nerdin - Wanda Can! and getting to soak in the Silo experience and Nerdin Gardens in one fabulous weekend! What an extraordinary line-up of artists, performing for 2 nights straight! After hiking and horseback riding (which I haven’t done in YEARS), I’ll definitely need that personal assistant and massages by day…and cocktails by night!
Anna Banana Kruchten CRS, Phoenix Broker, Carol Williams & Kathy Streib, I can’t thank you enough for this oh-so fun journey together! I have loved reading the entries and simply could not choose one! Goodness knows, I have the points to spare.
Speaking of points, don’t hesitate to join the lottery if you don’t have enough points for one of the adventures - I’m happy to donate them to anyone who needs them to keep their 500K free account intact.
