I HATE DAYLIGHT SAVING TIME! AND SO DOES GRUMPY CAT!
YOU'VE HEARD IT BEFORE... IT'S MY ANNUAL RANT ABOUT HOW MUCH I HATE DAYLIGHT SAVING TIME!
How much do I hate Daylight Saving Time? I pose this question each year. The answer each year to this question NEVER changes, as there are probably not enough words in the English language to express my hatred of it! I realize that I'm not necessarily in the majority when I say I prefer my light in the morning as opposed to the evening. And are we actually "saving" time? Or are we are simply moving daylight from the morning to the evening.
This morning it was still dark at 7:00 am! Why early mornings should feel like the middle of the night and not the start of a new day filled with light is something I'll never understand! Something not quite civilized about it is the way I look at it!
Grumpy Cat and I totally agreed on this last year, the year before that, the year before that, and the year before that... and we STILL agree this year... we hate, hate, hate Daylight Saving Time!
Studies show it takes people three weeks to get physically adjusted to Daylight Saving Time and that the number of heart attacks and strokes, fatal car accidents, mood disorders, hospital admission for irregular heart beats, and sleep problems significantly increase in the days following the change to Daylight Saving Time. Is it really worth all this for what most everyone admits doesn't really save a lot on energy costs? One study showed that the economic cost from lost productivity and health issues ranges from $400 million to as much as $2 billion. Is it really worth all this to maintain a tradition begun 104 years ago during World War I? Like Grumpy Cat... I say NO!
Grumpy Cat has even a better reason for hating Daylight Saving Time and who can argue with this reason?
I really hate not having light in the morning! Really, really hate it! Ok, that's my rant for Daylight Saving Time 2023. Since I don't have any control over Daylight Saving Time and the lack of morning light, I'll just have to suck it up and deal with it. But I don't have to like it! And neither does Grumpy Cat!
