Is your FACE on FACEBOOK? No, you say? Why not?

I have recently discovered facebook. I love it....i have been able to plug in to social marketing in a big way. So many of my friends are on FACEBOOK and even some high school friends are on there. It is fun to see what everyone is doing and I can type a simple sentence so my friends can see what I am up to in the moment. I think that is what I like best. I have been learning to live in the moment and Facebook supports that learning. I have a tendency to think in terms of future...always hunting for the next real estate client! Sometimes, I just need to relax and enjoy the moment. Yup, I just decided in that last moment to do that more often.

So, if you aren't on facebook, shoot me an email and I will invite you to be my friend. No one can have too many friends! I love having friends. It is fun. I have a HUGE support group and I am supportive of them in what they want too. It works.

For you do it yourselfers and the lone rangers, you don't need me to invite you...it was just a thought. You can still do it by yourself. Simply go to www.facebook.com and create an account. It is fun and free....two of my favorite things i life.

Hope to see you there. Make sure you search me and add me as your friend...that is, if you are looking for new friends.

- Life is good!

You know, there is also a status message on myspace. But facebook opens you up to a different group of people.

Michelle:  I am glad you enjoy Facebook.  My daughter belongs to it, too.  It is not anything I want anything to do with.  It holds no appeal for me at all.  But... you enjoy !

I hate myspace. I have been on tagged too and it seems there are a lot of men looking for love. Facebook is really different for some reason. I like it. The more high profile I am...the more real estate I sell...works for me.

I'm there, but I have not had time to do much with this.  Do you find it beneficial?  If so, what do you like about facebook..  What is the best way to intereact on this social network?

I find it beneficial.  Connect (Network) with lots of old friends, great.  Connect (Network) with lots of old friends who just might live in my area and just might need the services of a friendly realtor, even better!

I think of it as seed planting.  I make sure to update my status often with some cute remark about my business.

For example... my status right now is... "JoAnna is hoping one of her dear old friends will know someone who might want to buy one of her listings" and then I post a link to my listing gallery.

Did I find the buyer?  no.  Did I get lots of comments from friends and some old acquaintances clicking the link and telling me they will keep it in mind... yes!  Many of whom are still local!

I do have a face on facebook but have little interest in it.  It can't hurt but for me, I haven't found the full benefit of it yet.

So I did join the Facebook after reading your article.  I didn't read the direction well and pushed all the buttons.  Few minutes later I hear my daughter screaming from her bedroom saying that I asked her ex-boyfriend to be my friend on the Facebook.  At that moment I realized that everybody on my AOL address book got the same invite from Face from me.  After the initial embarassedment I got over it.  The great news is that a person I sold something on Ebay 7 years ago received the invite and called me to let me know that she is moving to Las Vegas and needed my help to find her a home!  Thank you so much for this article and I am very glad to be on Facebook now.

If you like to do it, it is great because then you will devote the time it takes.  But sometimes it's hard to devote the amount of time it takes to really work well when you are also doing AR, myspace, lead generating, open houes, showings...  You have to pick and choose the ones you LIKE to do.

Facebook is fantastic!  It took some to get use to it, but once you get the hang of it and start connecting with people it such a great tool.  I have made some great contacts, got back in touch with old friends, and use it for business purposes as well. If you're new to facebook and don't have many friends, send me an invite, I'll be happy to accept your friend request.  www.facebook.com/LisseteSevilla

Michelle,

I too just got on facebook a short while ago. Still learning about all this online exposure. I've been in the business for over 19 years and I see many of my old friends' business shriveling up because they won't change the way they do business. I'm slowly learning to pick the brains of successful younger agents who are much more tech savvy.

OK, question that's not about your post. The background for you blog looks like it comes from a ropes challenge course of some other similar event. Does it? While my friends are out on the golf course I am ropes course facilitator. Great stuff for personal growth.

Hi Larry,

Yes, it is a ropes course. Part of www.psiseminars.com

Great stuff! What other high ropes events do you have besides the pole?

Michelle,

Too many to list. Go to www.upwardenterprises.com and click on high ropes course. You'll see lots of pictures of our high course there. I think the one you'll see most pictures of is called our static tower. it's 8 high events. 4 at 25' and 4 at 40'. Then our climbing wall that also has some other events tied in. The catwalk, cable cross and heebie jeebie. Giant ladder, 600' zip line, giant swing. Lots of fun stuff but when it comes to personal challenge and growth I probably use the pole most often. I've seen lots of incredible break throughs there. Lots of tears, some screaming but lots of great outcomes.
