In selecting the best real estate professional for you, the best friend, the best spouse, the best advisor, all relationships in life
With Danger Know Who Your Meerkats Are.
These are the little desert mammals who purr with contentment, chatter at nervousness and downright squeal at the sight of danger, like mobbing a nearby snake. You know danger, they are called predators. The bad guys. Those things that can get you in trouble if you are not paying attention. Think of the Meerkats in your life as those stationed around your little mound of dirt, who are your sentinels for you.
The key word in finding these people and KNOWING who they are is the word "trust." In the military, the band of brothers protecting each other in combat patrols are all about trust and you watching their back and they watching yours. So let's review who you need to identify as your Meerkats to keep you safe and happy.
Trusted Advisors - those professionals whose skills and integrity are above the masses who have always done you proud. Great communication skills. They may not always have all the answers, but they will find them for you with their resources. Think some REALTORS, inspectors, lawyers, doctors, etc. you know.
Trusted Friends - you have to sift through many to find the true ones. Ones in your area like Real Estate on Active Rain, your office or Association. Other friends from other areas that allow you to be you and tell you things about yourself you don't recognize to keep you out of danger.
Trusted Family - All family members are not created equal. Some are the trusted ones that share your life stories and would lay down their life for you or give you a kidney. Others may seem more like acquaintances or even distant or estranged.
Trusted Spouse - Not a given, but hopefully if you are married you have one of these Meerkats in your life that won't let you go astray.
Trusted Pets - Never understimate the faithfulness of a good watchdog in the house. Burglars, fire don't stand a chance with a furry friend who sleeps with one eye open and has the ability to bark.
Trusted Companies and Institutions - it is said we shouldn't put our faith in business, but with branding, excellent customer service and reputation some come shining through, like Nordstroms with their customer satisfaction. You can't go wrong with a purchase there.
Trust in God - in the end the divine is where all our trust should rest. A source of strength where we never can be let down and a beacon of guidance for us.
Enjoy your fun on top of your sandy desert mound if you have those funny looking sentinels, those Meerkats, watching out for you. It will keep the predators and danger at bay and you'll enjoy many more sunsets in the world.
