A card becomes a priceless treasure

By
Home Inspector with Final Analysis Home Inspections

A customer just called me this morning and sadly she informed me that her husband had passed away suddenly just a couple of weeks after their home inspection.  Their beloved family dog also died the same week.

She wanted me to know that she treasures the card I sent using SendOutCards.com as it's the last photos taken of her husband and family pet.

I simply snapped a picture of the family as I was leaving. The dog came around the corner to see what was going on so I snapped a picture of him too and put them both in the card (below) along with some cookies. ( I learned at the inspection that they loved cookies)

This is a sad example of leaving a lasting impression but It made me feel good that I sent them this treasured card.

A side note: They had a prior inspection done but they could not remember who or the companies name. They discovered me from similar card of mine that they saw on a friends refrigerator. They have also sent me several referrals to other family and friends. Not because I'm a great inspector, but because I cared and they remembered me for that.

Dear Steve and Kathy,

I just wanted to send you this special card to say THANK YOU for trusting me with your business. It's now official, I'm the family home inspector. :)
It was a pleasure meeting you and always great working with all your family.
Now...here's some cookies for you. I baked them myself he he ...just kidding. But I wanted to return the yummy gesture.

I wish you and all your family a wonderful Christmas and a great New Year.

All the best,

Thanks Marzena. I send cards like this to all my customers in hopes they they will remember me.  But sometimes I'm surprised at how possitive an impact the cards can have.

Melissa - If you need a system that keeps you in the hearts and minds of your clients and translates into referrals, I definately recommend sendoutcards.

Walter - Isn't that the truth. It really is the little things that count. It's a sad story but I'm so glad I honored him while he was living.

Jack - These cards do create some amazing stories. They are personal and everlasting, long after the inspection service fades into forgotten memory. I guess that was my biggest discovery. It's much more than just a piece of cardboard stuck in an envelope. It's the priceless deed of appreciation towards people that has such a big impact. Sending cards has become important in my business, not just to say thanks, but because it has made me a better person for doing it. It allows me to be the nice person that I normally don't have time for.

Michael - Don't hesitate, Call your friend, get started before the busy season. It's an awesome system for any business person that wants to build solid referral based business. The returns far and above, outweigh the minimal time and exspense. It is sooooo worth it.

Here's some samples of cards I've sent just to give you some ideas.

Here's a page on how you can use them for building referrals.

Best of success!

UPDATE: The Real estate agent for these people just called me to shcedule an appointment. She was also moved by the card. She spoke to me with warmth as a friend of this family...and I am

Wow...that is an incredible story.  I just recently signed up  for Send Out Cards and I am amazed at the results I am getting.  Clients are calling me!  I was so impressed that I am marketing them part-time in addition to my RE business.  They are so easy to send, affordable and most of all effective!  Thanks for sharing that story.
