Are You Showing Sedona Real Estate During The Arizona Stay-At-Home Order?

What is closed in Arizona...

The short answer to am I showing property in Sedona and surrounding areas of the Verde Valley is, yes I am! More on this below.

Our Governor Doug Ducey decided to have a gradual and phased in opening of our state. Most of the residents in Sedona and Arizona agree with this process. The Sedona restaurants and all the businesses etc. listed above,  have been closed to inside and outside seating since March 20, 2020.

We feel pretty fortunate to be treated like adults and given the responsibility to follow the physical distancing and hygiene requirements without forcing us into draconian measures.

Trailhead Jordon Park

Unfortunately, tourists and visitors would not stay away from Sedona, so our mayor along with the Bureau of Land Management decided to close our trails and ask visitors to stay away. This didn't mean you cannot go hiking but it does mean that parking and road access were shut down making it more difficult to park close to hiking areas.  We can still go outside, we can take a walk, and visit parks.  After all, we are responsible adults.

What have you been doing while following

the "Arizona Stay At Home Order"?

First of all, we all have to maintain a positive frame of mind.  I have always felt that having the right attitude is 90% of anything I do.  When I feel that a situation is starting to overcome my attitude, I often think of a quote from Zig Ziglar.  "Your attitude, not your aptitude, will determine your altitude."  If I stay in a Zen frame of mind, I am more balanced.  It helps my mind stay clear and I can more easily defeat challenges that come my way. I have been spending a lot of time in my courtyard and backyard gardening and pruning my bushes. I do this before I would normally get ready to start my day selling Sedona real estate

My Courtyard Provides My Zen Experience

The Sedona Red Rocks Help Create a Peaceful State Of Mind

After I balance myself by enjoying my gardens,  I get on the phone and start calling clients to find out how they are coping with this.  Usually, they want to know how the market is doing.  Is it busy?  There is a lot of people calling that can't wait to get out of their state. This pandemic has changed a lot of people's minds about where they want to live.

Information Is Powerful

During my conversations, I have talked with my sellers, to let them know that I am not on vacation and I am continually marketing their property.  I can be reached for any questions they may have.  I stay in touch on a regular basis.  Real Estate is an essential business in Arizona. More on that later.

Helping Neighbors and Community

I am also checking on my elderly neighbors.  At Easter, I would normally have them over for dinner.  This year I made each a huge plate of Easter ham and all the trimmings.  I brought Tristan with me to say Happy Easter from outside!  I also volunteer for the Salvation Army taking calls and approving ways to help the disadvantaged.  Over the last 4 years, those calls continued to diminish until recently. We now have 3 additional people to help.  Let's all hope we get to a point that those calls diminish once again.

How I Am Showing Property in Sedona and the Verde Valley

Real estate agents and brokers can show a property in Arizona.  There are no open houses and our MLS tours have been suspended until further notice.  We can do Virtual Open Houses but that is it.

There is a COVID-19 Certification For Property Access.  I need to follow these guidelines and each individual accessing the property needs to sign the form.

Select this for COVID-19 Certification for Property Access and Coronavirus/COVID-19 Addendum

Hi Debb Janes EcoBroker and Bernie Stea JD - Thank you. I have one seller that is providing masks and booties (if needed) to the buyers and other agents. If we see showings right now, I know they are serious buyers.

Hi Sheri:

Things are starting to loose up here a little but the restrictions in real estate in my area have not changed, and that's OK.

It sounds like you start off your day just right...in the garden. What a great way to get into the right frame of mind as your day gets started.

Sheri, our last two counties in the Denver metro area will lift "stay at home" orders this coming Friday, so things will begin to get back to a new normal.

Nice courtyard garden!  Gardening is my big thing right now too, and of course cat care giving.  I have not been showing any properties.

Great Zig Ziglar quote!  He has some jewels.  Too bd that tourists ruined the parking for everyone, but then again that's usually what happens. A few ruin it for the rest.  Hope you're doing well!

HI Jan Green - So true about the parking.  We have trails a block away and cars were parking dangerously on the main road. There are no parking signs on the main road now.  This is a good thing.  You can still hike just have to park a long way from the trails.
